i love how creative the german rock bands were during this time. theres the awesome, balls to the wall riff, and then when it stops and you have the great little interlude things. man its just perfect. perfect mixture of creative and accessible. My favorite part is at 2:00 when it breaks down with that beautiful guitar playing, and then comes back in with "BUT THEY DON'T UNDERSTAAAND"
Wow, this is truly haunting and great! I first heard of them from a question on the "Rock Trivia" boardgame I got in 1983. I always wondered who they were until somehow I remembered their name and typed it in. We never got to experience this where I grew up and live.
@bluestate69 wolfmother gathers from anything sounding remotely 70's like led zeppelin, black sabbath, queen etc. so in a way it's not a coincidence since this is late 60's early 70's rock like Crimson King, Cream, Suck and so on and so forth.. especially check out Suck, if you like this kind of music, might tickle your fancy.
Further to my last message - I have now found out the name of the film from which the video was assembled.
It is called Man and Women by Cecil B DeMille 1919 staring Gloria Swanson et al. Gloria Swanson was terrified during the part which is filmed in the lions den.
The episode in this video clip is a fantasy scene within a plot largely the same as the movie recreated in the 1950's called the Admiral Crichton with Kenneth More
If you want to see the movie Man and Woman search films

@sbos73 The movie has been named in some comments before, it is a silent Hollywood movie of Cecil B. DeMille "Male and Female" , (1919)
DeMille loved biblical and ancient stories with tortured (half-) naked whomen etc.
He was the Steven Spielberg of his era, his last blockbuster was "The Ten Commandments" in 1956
