nope no skeeters yet, as the ice is just now melting. we don't get them thick in my area until later, in May. Fortunately those big giant ones are slow fliers, and make lots of noise so it is pretty easy to whack them with yer hat! Not like tropical ninja skeeters that swoop in low and fast.
i like that sound too. As near as I can tell (sort of hard to hear on a recording) it is about 9 different water sounds that recur and blend together to make the overall sound. a veritable symphony!

Very nice! I lived in the mountains of Mexico for 5 months, about 6 hours by mule from any highway. Both places seem quite similar.

Oh man---i wanna fish there. I love fishing. Are your giant mosquitos out yet? They are here but not as thick as the flies. Flies rule Denmark.
