  • Lol we can only assume he was 'evil' from one pessimistic (but good) writer called Tacitus.. Other than that there were maybe a few rumors written down nothing more nothing less..

And Tacitus describes things more aweful thanthey are.. So basically he could be a bad person but not 'THAT' evil..

That he wanted to name is horse consul = also a rumor // not a fact!

  • I think that old bad talking at the end is out her mind!

  • He's not evil he's just out of his mind that's all.

  • would love to buy this guy a beer or...a whore

  • wtf collect shells ? such a retarded man

  • It has to be true. It's a documentary, they never lie.

  • @Kathrinoyo Prone to misinformation maybe, but lie? I don't know about all that.

  • @BubblingSyphilisSund Read Aloys Winterling and you know.

  • ordered his troops to pick up shells, wtf

  • ironic he is killed after claiming divinity

  • his own family wanted him dead, that's how evil he was.

  • sadist, this guy was definitely a sociopath

  • i guess they killed his daughter because they didnt want someone else with his genes growing up in their society...fair dues. i know its sick, but to them after what they were put through it probably seemed reasonable. what a disgusting man. not a man even...

  • beat his two year old daughter against a wall?

  • Who else thought the picture at 0:21 was Caligula blowing a load into some girls mouth

  • This shit's bad....

  • This documentary strongly implies that Caligula wasn't a god. That is pure blasphemy.

  • @Useless2112 blasphemy? THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!!!!

  • @mecca2dope Actually it's Ro- whatever...

  • that lady looks like caligula

  • So he was a lunatic who felt he was a god?

  • Shells? Shells!!! as spoil of victory over the ocean, this guy lost it

  • @Adriangrosvenor You know it

  • Collecting shells seems to be by far more reasonable behavior than the actual conquest of Britain which proved to be of absolutely no use for the Roman Empire. At least, you can sell them shells as souvenirs:-)

  • This guy was FUCKED up!

  • OKAY I CAN UNDERSTAND KILLING CALIGULA HE WAS AN EVIL BASTARD BUT WHAT THE FUCK i mean why kill the wife and kid she had no fucking choice if she didn't marry him he would kill her AND THE BABY DIDN'T DESERVE THAT

  • @TheSaltireproduction Back then, power was inherited and delegated through family lines. They killed them because they didn't want a single chance of Caligula's influence surviving. However, it would reappear ten years after his death in the form of Nero, who witnessed his atrocities as a child.

  • Fuckin Lil, boots.

  • how was he not insane? you cant say the guy went power crazy, he was loony from the beginning. even with hitler, you can see he was a smart man, with a fucked up belief system when it came to equallity. this guy killed and fucked his own family. he took pleasure in personally torturing people. he appointed his horse a high priest. the guy was straight out whacked

  • why does that woman say that he was JUST a young man using all the freedom he had?!! i think SHE is out of her mind for not thinking that caligula was a psycho.

  • @metalheadlass Being emperor in Roman times meant you had power over everything. You know the phrase power going to your head? This was well and true to the emperors back them. It wasn't just Caligula being evil and sadistic alot of them were. And that was because they had too much power. So that might be why she said that.

  • Ah what the hell?

That woman does not think he was out of his mind?

If you can justify killing people by the masses for your own gain than your just fucking CRAZY.

    Nice upload though.

  • Role model of all actual sadists in the world.

  • Brilliant, thumbs up if u are sadist, thumbs down if u are pussy xD

  • i'd kill his ass had he touched my wife emperor or not

  • what an evil bastard, I wish Id have a few min's alone with this piece of shit.

  • 3 yrs and 11 months to many...

  • Killing his two year old daughter I don't agree with but maybe it's because they felt she would become like him.

  • Thanks for posting these

  • i think he was great man! god bless him! piece be with him!! i wish he was presidente of united state!!

  • He was no mad man, just evil !

  • I always wonder how do people like this rule for so long. It seems like there should come a point where the higher ups should say, "hold on now. your going a little too far" and they should kill him.

  • @RespectMyHate There are no higher ups than an emperor.

  • @RespectMyHate Ok higher ups meaning those who chill with the emperor, like his people. They are pretty high, Higher then the ordinary citizen. so those guys should have been like "yo lets kill this nigga" :) "this nigga crazy man"

  • I wish they hadn't killed his daughter. She didn't do anything... :(

  • Man that must have been 3 years of hell. I love how he was killed by all the people closest to him, it says it all.

  • little boots!

  • @ThisLittleBlackBook lol u mean lil' boots

  • Thank you for interesting document!

  • and i thought nero was a douchebag this guy is even worse!!

  • They should've killed him sooner.

  • is it just me or was that woman with glasses actually supporting the things he did because he was just exercising his freedoms?

  • @technopath100 No. She was just saying how funny it was how they were appalled by these horrid acts when it was done to their fellow citizens, when they cheer for such actions against foreign peoples and their enemies.

  • Comment removed

  • 0:21 Is that someone's Member of Parliament in her mouth? I've seen all sorts of Roman stuff they didn't show you at school. Call that an education?

  • This is what Congress will be like unless we get rid of them.

  • sex with prisoners, senators, and his sisters? was caligula bi?

  • @Rockguitarhero462 everyone was bi back in those days man they all screwed each other and even animals, alexander the great, the romans, achilles (if the myths real) all your favourite ancient heroes loved abit of anal :) they just never show it in the movies for obvious reasons

  • @gzuss090909 Yeah, it was a fuck-for-all back in those days. It's hard to believe that even the baddest motherfuckers, including leonidas and the spartans, were fucking boys in the back.

  • Why kill his child, Ducillia? What kid deserves that.

  • I really really hate Caligula

  • his kid didnt deserve that, a child shouldnt pay for their parents idiocy

  • He was a great leader :))

  • fuck Paganism! Hail Jesus!

  • @sKewbrain Paganism is a peaceful earth loving faith, and has nothing to do with the violence committed in that time! Look at how many have been murdered in the name of the christian church & in the name of christ!! You likely know absolutely nothing about real paganism and are basing your opinion on pre conceived notions and ignorance spewed out by the church, like most christians do, try picking up a book, learning a bit about the subject. & stop being so prejudiced!

  • @MsStormcrow You're the ignorant one. I'm not talking about any post-medieval nature worship. I'm talking about ancient Babylonian Luciferianism when they used to sacrifice babies & have all kind of perverted orgies to become as gods. Who cares about what the "church" did? The only reason the history of the church is so bloody is because of Roman-Pagan infiltration. I'm not being prejudice, I know more about true Pagan origins than these new-age pantheists do. Paganism is Satanic.

  • @MsStormcrow

"Look at how many have been murdered in the name of the Christian Church..." I'm guessing you are referring to the Crusades and the Inquisition-those horrific historical events were done by the Papacy, not by Christians. Don't blame Christians for things carried out by the Catholic church at that time.

Many Christians were killed during the Inquisition, it might as well be referred to as a Protestant genocide (which it was).

  • @lovelyladynostalgic yes many christians were killed during the inquisition, but calling it a protestant genocide?! I'm sorry we disagree there, though I agree many protestants were murdered, the people that they were going after the most were witches and pagans, or any wise woman. though many many more were murdered because of the term heresy, pagans, witches, midwives, protestants, jews, etc... they may have been ordered by the papacy.but it was fanatical christians who carried out the deeds!

  • Why was the wife and daughter killed?

  • He was framed!!!

  • Even after hearing about all of Caligula's exploits, he still seems more sane than George Bush and Nancy Pelosi.

  • This is one sick son of a bitch.

  • his father was his uncle !!!!!!!!

    he was mad

  • Caligula was as seriously disturbed as some of the greatest psychopaths in history including Stalin, Hitler, and so forth. Statistically, Stalin was the most sinister entity that ever inhabited the earth excluding Satan himself, but Caligula committed similar atrocities when comparing the elimination methods that he implemented on the Roman population.

  • You know it is ironic that as soon as he considered constructing a false image of himself in Jerusalem he was eliminated by his own subordinates. It's as if God was attempting to enforce justice on this planet, and the region. Caligula was honestly a coward for all the humans he persecuted for his own sadistic amusement.

  • bi polar depression must've been rampant in those times. I think about all the crazy fuckers down thru history...you know, the ones that we read about in Hostory class, and I gotta think that people like Hitler, Idi Amin and Stalin, were extremely depressed people....and I cant help but think that Caligula was a sociopathic sex addict....today, we would call him a "hot mess".

  • The same thing goes on today.

  • Did he persecute Christians ?

  • @silentfades Probably, considering that the predominant religion at that time was Roman Polytheism which contradicts Protestant Monotheism. One of his ascending successors definitely did. I'm referring to Nero. The Roman Military was perhaps one of the best militant forces ever assembled in the history of warfare. But there populist rule, and unjust religion contradicted they're military in so many ways in my opinion.

  • @silentfades There were no christians during the life of Caligula

  • actually these ppl are misinformed since it was callgula who organized the invasion of brtain with rather brilliant way, claudius became famous for the invasion, but it was caligula before who made prep camps, ships to invade, they discovered camps in netherlands, france, belg, he spended alot money time and had military vision but they hated him because of these excesses

  • I read somewhere that the Romans used a lot of lead in their water pipes, cookware, chalices, etc. I wonder how much of their insanity and cruelty was partially caused by lead poisoning. Just a thought.

  • @wevetra13 I agree, great point.

  • wow hes violent .crazy. super horny partyed like rock strat ....i know he was evil but god i wish i were him :(

  • I heard that Caligula inherited this sexual disease called syphelis and thats why he went insane

  • Lad.

  • looney

  • That was an interesting, random twenty minutes on Youtube.

  • There's a perverse part of me that admires hium. Only that he had complete power and could do what he damn well pleased. Who wouldn't want that?

  • @84ccipollini i would not. its the weak who can not handle power and who yearns for it...

  • most evil genius in historical parallels is 2010 GJON TOMA..a.k.a jKAL

  • This guy makes Rasputin look prudent.

  • Living back in those days must've been really hard.

  • I feel so bad for the Senate...

    Truly fucked up times.

  • Well I would rather have him been captured by Celts and burnt in the wicker man but...I'll settle for his foolish shell picking :)

  • the guy who came after after called nero was even worse...

  • Caligula, Hittler, Reagan, Bush, Tatcher, same shit

  • he most likely sufferd form saturnism exactly like Nero, this may have been due to the lead vessels from which they drank wine.

  • Tiberius, calgula, vlad dracula, and erzebet bathory fascinate me very much.:)

  • headaches and sleeplessness is a sign of schizophrenia. he could have contracted syphilis or something like that some type of fever and with everything he had been trough and metal illness probably ran in his family and sickness also made it worse

  • In a strange way it is still fascinating, all these crazy motherfkkers!

  • I dont agree with the woman who said she didn't think he was crazy at all..clearly he was, first he falls sick then when he recovers he becomes a changed man and then of course there is the headaches and the sleeplessness..a strong indication of a mental health problem

  • @Jasmin9626 so what .. mental illness ...doesn't make someone into a mass murderer.. sadistic killer

  • what a dick.

  • Ans you are a true idiot for making such an imbecile statement

  • jus being open minded & jus for the record i dont like caligula for his crazy actions i like him cuz he stands out, he acted different from everyone and people think he is crazy cuz they never seen anyone like him & for the record most of the people he did kill were evil people in the senate jus to prove this to u after they killed him they killed his wife and then bashed his 2 year old daughter to death against a wall and before that he seen most of his family killed on the orders of tiberius

  • @KaiSuTeknon315 i agree comrade

  • @shogunmatsuki thank you!

  • @KaiSuTeknon315

Just being open-minded doesn't mean blocking out a part of your mind that is your superego. The area responsible for conviction.

What he was requires an EXTREME amount of desensitization to the point that he is mentally capable of dehumanization other individuals.

Decreasing their worth so that their lives as other human beings lose significance. His constant pacing and staying up late showed signs of OCD and insomnia which didn't help how people perceived him at all.

  • @KaiSuTeknon315

Not to mention that it is VERY obvious Caligula was a mentally ill man.

He falls sick and when he recovers he is a completely changed man.

Common sense would say-that sickness did some SERIOUS damage.

  • he was drunk with power, and he knew he had little blockage to his power.

  • he was an evil piece of shit that deserved nothing less than being skinned alive then have his flesh seared back on with a delapatated frying pan, 2xs over

  • @604SNOWMAN

sounds like something he would have done

  • he must have had so much fun in those 3yrs and 11months, why did the romans have to kill his daugher drusilla? how can a 2 or 3yr old be guilty of anything.

  • through all the killings he did, he wasent anti semitic, he could have ordered all the jews in the empire to be rounded up and killed, but he didnt, if this guy was insane and a mad man, goes to show how much more evil and insane hitler was

  • Watch the episode on Torquemada.

  • Hitler had a plan Caligula killed for fun

  • That doesn't mean he didn't enjoy it!

  • Oh that didnt make any difference to him who dies and who suffers as long as there was death and suffering..i bet you he didnt even think of it as there was plenty of humans around him to go the the slaughter...

  • most likely neurosyphilis

  • @fernan2901 could be

  • he was a randy fucker!

  • I cant work out the brain putrefaction either. If the man's brain was exposed and rotting he would already be paralysed or dead. I think perhaps Suetonius - as an ancient - did not understand anatomy. If the brain is damaged you are dead most likely. Perhaps bone had punctured the brain and the exposed skull and dura were rotting? Any MDs comment

  • Suetonius describes him having the man whipped with chains until the stench of rotting brains became insupportable. It says nothing about the man still being alive.

  • how could someone's brain start to smell?

  • and mr Caligula was bisexual be i think he preferred women to men.

  • AIDS?

  • Comment removed

  • yeah. cancer has been around since the begining of time but went by another name. i think the same is the case with aids.

  • You mean HIV? AIDS is different. Just wondering.

  • yes AIDS.

  • why did they have to kill his daughter?

  • She tortures her playmates and animals. I think smashing her head was well deserved.

  • are freakin serious?

  • like father like daughter i guess.

  • many reasons. Her Future son could possibly be an Heir to the Empire, and Rome didn't want another asshole in power. Or it could have just been simple hate. If you look at history, there's no shortage of people destroying an entire bloodline just to spite one person. It's a sad truth to our Species.

  • its sad. it just goes to show that people and situations never change.

  • he was insane.

  • The whole Roman system was insane. Giving absolute power to one man over the whole "civilized" world. Very few men are truly good. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Pity considering Rome could have become a democracy. Caligula was not really insane, but with no limits he decided to push the envelope - and died for it.

  • I don't want to play Devil's advocate here, but I like to look at things objectivley. He lost his WHOLE family when he was like 7, he was forced to live with Tibirius, who was sick and diseased, mentally and physically and watched innumerable deaths at his hands for YEARS and is told left and right that he's a god and he's supposed to come out sane?! WTF!?

  • i agree with you and i was afraid to say anything for fear of being chewed out by other posters. but yeah; how can anyone expect any human being to have a normal existence under these dysfunctional family circumstances? i felt a little sorry for him.

  • I'm used to being berated by other posters, so i could give a shit. Yeah, it's like I said, how could he be "normal" under these circumstances? And what the hell was nrmal to ancient Rome? They were pretty sick. He was a man of his times and prduct of his environment.

  • true dat add to that mental sickness. One always has to remember when you look at ancient times that people thought did things differently.

  • i know right, sometimes i behave like an asshole cause ppl suck!!

  • @foofwolf22 more likely insane

  • @foofwolf22 yeh... when's he becoming a saint?

  • Oh Caligula, you make insanity sexy!

  • This guy was just sick he needed urgent medical help but in Ancient Rome they lacked that

  • part of the prophesied anti-Christ beast of Revelation perhaps

  • Your thinking Nero...

  • hes sounds nuts and all but the monarchs just kinda did stuff like that. i know he did alot more things in real life but they dont really discuss much in this video

  • Caracalla was worse.

  • uh uh nero was worse.

  • Have you read Cassius Dio? If you had you would not doubt that the bloodthirsty Caracalla was far worse than Nero who - for his first 5 years as Imperator was quite a good emperor. So on what do you base your statement? Nero didn't have the blood-lust of either Caracalla or Caligula. Unless you take special exception to Nero due to his persecution of Christians? Mild compared to the Inquisition.

  • I wish we still persecuted Christians personally, lol.

  • some christians. some.

  • @vbabe11111 : ok, I'll meet you halfway on this. I don't want to get into too many arguments. So yes, let's say some.

  • There are Christians, and then there are "Christians" as my mother used to say.

  • @vbabe11111 : fair enough. But Ivan the Terrible is a 'Christian' I hope you agree?

  • oh i agree. ivan the terrible is a perfect of example of what i mean by "christian": you know; the ones who claim to know god and say they are good people just because they go to church on sunday (or saturday) and shot hullaluja to hymnals but in reality they are the biggest assholes on earth and don't know the first thing about about how to live. yeah i know um!

  • I'm christian, vbabe11111, and yes, anyone can call themselves christian and do any number of horrific acts and whatnot. They do it all the time under various names and associations, but in reality they're pure filth.

  • @mistermajestyck

"I wish we still persecuted Christians persnoally, lol."

Why? Are you one of those individuals who automatically assume that if someone is a "Christian," that they fit the stereotypical behaviours of someone who worships Christ? Not all Christians are close-minded, over-the-top, holier-than-thou, arrogant, hypocritical, hardcore going door-to-door, bible thumpers. And also, ever heard of tolerance?

  • was Nero a descendant of ceasar

  • This guy was without a doubt a great piece of shit

  • "Gather up the shells"..."Spoils of victory over the ocean"... Is he crazy or playing around? or may be both...

  • haha lol
