One question..... what would be a good height for a ballet dancer? Any height is acceptable?

My daughter is 7 years old, she's very thin but short, should ballerinas be a bit taller? She's 3'8'' (113cm) and 33 lbs (15 kg).

I've been watching some videos from your school and I must say I had never saw children dancing so professionally! Sad I'm from USA, if we were in the same place my girl would love to study with you.

@theviolingirl123 everybody says she's skinny.... for some time I was worried too, but after 3 doctors saying she's perfectly fine I relaxed, she's very active running and playing all day long, really a sweet child and eats very well... after all I'm thin and short myself and she resembles me very much, so I don't worry anymore. I just wanted to know because she'll start ballet next year, she wants very much and I always though ballet girls were a bit taller than most children, I don't know....

I've never been into dancing so I didn't know anything about, it's my girl's dream really.

I don't know where you live but american children are getting taller and taller, all her friends are bigger than her but now it will be an advantage for her..... if she happens to be talented like these russian girls I will be over the moon with pride!!!

@thyllaneful Most adult ballerinas are between about 5 foot 3 inches and 5 foot 8 inches tall and with this height range, weight is ideally anywhere between about 85 and 130 lbs., and depends heavily on muscle and bone mass. It's important for ballet that she's skinny, so her weight is fine and the good thing is that she won't have to go to diet.
