If it's a Legend, it was rereleased in 2001 ;) the original ship is from 1989 ;) pretty old huh? :P btw the ship is called Black Seas Barracuda ;)

The origional ship was called BLACK SEAS BARRACUDA. They re-released it and I bought this one direct from LEGO SHOP AT HOME in 2003... It is probably the greatest LEGO ship ever designed...  Bill

Well PIRATES are my favorites!!! You may want to check my Bills' Creations YOUTUBE channel BRYSOWG for a PLAYLIST I created called MEGA BLOKS. I have a TON of way cool Pirate videos... I think Mega Bloks makes MUCH BETTER Pirate sets than LEGO. One of e reasons is that LEGO just does not have that many... MEGA BLOKS has a zillion PIRATE sets... Bill

Ahoy shipmates! This be the finest ship to sale the LEGO Market! Look, it has cannons, muskets, little pistols, swords, cutlases, a pirate ship with rowboat, and even a shark eating a pirate! This set must bring up alot of people's imaginations, and can't wait to build it again and again. But what I don't like about LEGO now is that they don't contain those other modles you can build on the back of the box. But I would love to see that fort and dry dock!

But I do have 3 LARGE STUDIOS that are on the docket to be built... Bill

I actually bought this set direct from LEGO when they re-released it about 10 years ago. Got it along with my JUNGLE set. This is on of the greatest Pirate ships ever done by LEGO!!! Bill

HA HA! No they don't! But they roll in and out. The cannons are on roller wheels. 4 little wheels for each cannon. This is the BEST Lego model I own and a wonderful build!!! Be Well... Bill

Believe it or not I bought this one DIRECTLY from LEGO a number of years back! They did a re-release of this set and what I call the JUGLE SET and I scarfed up on both of them! This has got to be one of the BEST LEGO sets I own. I think the only place you could get it is now EBAY!! Lego should re-release this one!!! Be Well... Bill

GOOD FOR YOU!!! Hope it didn't cost you a arm and leg!!! I tried to get the 6274 carribean clipper and it quickly went well over $100 so I let it pass... STILL LOOKING. Glad you got the LEGEND. Bill, if you are looking for a cheaper, but still magnificent ship, you can try the Imperial Flagship, 6271 I think. It is more proportional than the clipper and is also cheaper as the kit is newer - it's from 1992. I got it recently and it is simply beautiful.

Thanks for the comments! A number of years ago Lego was selling these from their web site! They had a limited number available and I scarfed it up for lucky me!!! Good luck in finding one. Thanks for the kind comments. Check out my "Bills' Creations - Best Lock Treasure Island". This is also a LARGE pirate ship and FORT. Not as good as Lego but still pretty good.  The Best Lock doesn't have the quality as Lego but it is still neat. Their Fort is awsome... Be Well... Bill

This is the BEST Lego set that I own and it is no longer sold. Took me 8 hours to build and is a wonderful model! I am now working on a BEST LOCK TREASURE ISLAND that is a pirate ship with fort. I love PIRATE things! Be Well... Bill
