oh okay, i'm sorry, and you could probably put a russian on the floor, but make sure there isn't many places for him/her to run off and hide if he does escape
umm my hamster escaped once and that freaked me out i found him but im scared cause when i tame him and hes out of his cage will he jump? im not doing the goose chase again ....
this helped alot check out my hammy pongo on my channel i only did it for like a week or a few days she isn't the tamest yet but she is getting better i want to get a new cage for mine the one i have is pain in the butt to clean so i am getting a different one or i will look if i have my old hamsters cage still
@zoroah94 I'm sorry to hear that, you need to go over the steps EVERYday. Many people go very wrong by trying to use these steps... By attempting to handle them.
This can terrify your hamster and leave it very nervous of hands.
You need to go through these EXACT steps everyday.
The hard work does pay off, I breed hamsters, handle them, I work in a pet shop and tame every single one from the day they open their eyes.
when i had my hand in the box, my hammie was sitting in my hand and because i had a jumper on i didnt feel her climb up my arm when i looked away :D when i looked back i was like OMG! i ran over to my mum and started panicking, she laughed an sed the hammie was on my shoulder! she managed to climb up my arm and sat on my shoulder, she was so light i didnt feel her :D then i felt her paws scrabbling on my neck, she climbed on top of my head and sat there for ages! she even fell asleep :D
wow!well i have tried to tame my robo for a month and it still won't stay on my hand but i will let me touch its fur then it would run away again........
@sasquatch831 try rubbing your hands in his sawdust, his bedding, the tub of food, I even open up those grass rolls and rub the grass between my hands until my hands smell very familiar to them.. then I put one seed in the box, she ate it, then ate one off my hand :D
I keep their food bowl not very full so they take treats from me. :) There aren't constant treats in the cage, so they really are treats. :)
how do you get it in the box?????

sasquatch831 2 years ago
Just keep tempting him with the seed, if he still refuses, don't give him the food; x
