  • Likey Likey Likey ;-)

  • Sounds great

  • this is darth vader's mom

  • This may sound silly (the sound coming out of the 700), but when you've played around with a patchable synth for a while, you get to know it. You know what it can do, so when you hear something new or strange, it's worth exploring and recording.

    Love the video.

  • This is what its all about, pull out all the digital crap and get to the roots of electronic music for the best sounds. Wish I had somthing like this to play with.

  • ill stick to my MPC...

  • Yes the Roland system 700 is huge, and very well build to help understanding, sadly you haven't the sequencer, I so much love the sequences running through all the modules...

  • haterz piss off and listen to pink floyd 'on the run' synth demos

  • synths just bewlider me. i have no clue how all those would work in conjunction with each other, i mean it's a completely different world from guitars and pedals. i love the sounds of synths, i just have no clue how they get those sounds haha.

  • im jealous. wow. playing with 700 would be awesome!

  • @adude43 Why do you care enough to comment? I had a little spontaneous fun with a synth that was here for restoration. I happen to love System 700's and have seen several of them. So I get giddy when I get to mess around with one.

  • this is stupid!!!!!!!

  • It's a fine line between good synth and "i've bin working on this noise for an hour and it sounds like porpoise" synth.

  • sorry man to be harsh ! but it looks hard :(!

wat is it for ?or wat does it do

  • you call that fun :|?, man you have a exciting time ;)!

  • This is the only modular I feel comfortable around, even though I've seen nearly all the others--Moog, Buchla, Arp, Emu, Aries, Serge, Doepfer...

And once and for all, I've never claimed to be a musician nor a synthesist!

  • @fountainoffilth lol filth it would be nice if u could play, however i don't think anybody really cares, they just wanna see what those ole modular toys looked like and then dream bout em in their dreams, cause that as close as they will ever get to em.

  • @fountainoffilth Hey, Cwejman is quite something, little modules, but they are really packed with possibilities.

  • This is how to use this device:

turn this knob, turn that knob...flip this switch, flip that switch...make it look like you know what your doing....

  • but...you know how use it???...mumble mumble...

  • where is fun??

  • My college has one of these, yet no controller. Can't wait for next year, studio tinker time!

  • can i borrow it?

  • I don't own the unit, and it's not here anymore.

  • can i borrow anything else?

  • hey - I got the 717a sequencer

  • sounds like billy meyers spaceship recording

  • I've been related to Kevin nearly 9 years--I'm his wife. :)

This video was recorded in our living room.

  • Hey Monica,

    Are you related to Kevin?

Was this video recorded at the New England Synthesizer Museum?

  • Quadbassblaster plays with his dick. No chicks, sorry.

  • Sounds better than most modular synth posts!

  • Looks like control panel for the planet. And judging by the sounds, it probably is.

  • @ZeeKat almost definitley if not the universe

  • I actually thought it was kinda ambient.

  • So are you just an idiot or envious that I got to play with a 700. Y'know, it's not my first, and it won't be my last 700. :)

  • Guess you've never gotten any between a System 700 and a Moog 55, like I have...and I ain't a dude!
