They struggled to recreate their studio sound when playing live in the early days as electric guitars drowned out the other strings. They were the pioneers of electric violins and cellos and once they got it right they were outstanding!

The quality of this music can't be questioned, unlike most of today's crap. ELO and most other musicians of the 70's & 80's produced one masterpiece of music after another that is as popular today as it was back then. Theses day's music is normally produced by an xfactor reject who just wants to make enough cash for a fast car and a shag.

ELO has been my favorite band for 30+ years and they still sting my heart and soul with a TREMENDOUS sound, vocals, backup. Too bad they can't find people with this type of talent in the same place anymore. I've never seen them in concert but would surely love to. The only other band of their caliber is the Bee Gees!

Hopefully ELO never had to open for anybody because, chances are, you probably wouldn't be able to out-perform them. I wish more teenagers had respect for these guys, and this music era in general, instead of just "rapping" over their music and butchering the songs almost beyond recognition.
