  • I would of saluted the whole train.

  • They were not Scrapped

  • These units have a new home on the CN in Canada Now

    They look and sound great

these units replaced 65 SD40-2's on the CN

  • It kills me to see them scrap Dash 8s, I cant wait until they start scrapping GEVOs.

  • WOW!! Nice video but I hate to see older locomotives in exchange for the GE Evolution invasion of the 21st century.

  • HOLY SHIT

  • So sad; to think that they used to grace the transcon in that fabulous warbonnet scheme not even 20 years ago.

  • Question: are all 30 locos MU'd together and under power, or are most of them simply being towed by the lead engine(s)? 30 Dash-8's ... how much freakin power is that!? 120,000 horsepower? What does that compare to?

  • This is the first I have heard of the CN returning units they bought from BNSF, back to the BNSF.

  • what is a wheel slip?

  • @EpicDingoProductions a wheel slip is when a wheel like a steel train wheel can't get enough traction from the tracks and the wheel spins faster than the trains speed.

  • all those ge locos cant pull 1 car

  • Awesome!

  • Sad to see those big boys go... Great video!

  • if they Are srapping them i will be so mad/sad

  • @bnsfwarbonnet I think they were sent to CN, but they have since been returned to BNSF.

  • @Alwaystrains why cn refuse the WARBONNET because its not boring

  • @bnsfwarbonnet They didn't. I'm guessing that CN kept a few, but most have been in service for the past year and are being returned to BNSF about now.

  • @Alwaystrains These units haven't been returned 98 percent of them have been repainted and are running on CN through north america

  • Awesome, 5 Stars & a favorite!!!!!

  • Poor warbonnets): wait did u see the condition of the first few GEVO's? Wat r they lyk 6 years old? Y do they look lyk shit? I mean paint is all faded nd chipped?

  • Only around 30 engines. Nice but after seeing the Union Pacific's train yard in Roseville Ca. They had that many just parked on one siding.

  • Just think...if they were ALL running and if they were ALL 3,000 HP, you'd have 90,000 HP...I think that would carry what 400 plus loaded cars..

  • breaks my heart

  • anyone want to say POWER MOVE!!!LMAO

  • *** NOTE***

Those engines were not going for scrap. CN was looking for some cheap power a few months back. That train was one of several bunches of dash 8s that CN bought.

  • @grovestreetgman I have seen pics of the CN patched H2 and H3 units, wonder how the patched warbonnets look.?

  • what does DIC mean?

  • @104trucker DIC MEANS "Dead in Consist"

  • @104trucker Dead in Consist

  • lol at 1:15 "woop"

  • You know , I think every Line should keep at least one of each of the locos of their predecessor in their original logoto serve as a memorial to yesteryear. Is it me or does railfanniing loses its luster somewhat as it streamline thier fleets? Opinions open. Im in S.Florida and if it wasnt for an unexpected runthru of pot ash, I never wouldve seen a pumpkin in all its splender.

  • Great Catch!. I need to move to the West coast. At 1:31, are those apt,or condos? I would love to have a place like that. Where is that exactly?

  • @attlevi I believe Condos, Placentia,CA

  • Ha shoulda 4449 pull them because that would the ulimate justice is served.

  • On June 30 2002 fellow rial fan Marty Conair and i caught a line up of rare former Amtrak SDP40F rebuilds on the deadline at Barstow station. A week alte rthey were all sent to the scapper. PVideo tape and photogrpah everyhting you neve rknow ehn the end of an era is coming...

    John Amundsen

  • Does anybody know where these Units are sitting? Are they going to be repainted or kept the way they are with the CN logo stenciled on

  • @nawrock I posted a link. A video responce.

  • O - M - G !!!

  • Awesome great video, great job, thanks for uploading!!!!

  • Best ever =)

    Thank you for sharing!

  • "Wow, That Was So Cool", sorry for your loss, haha! I saw a video once of 40 Steam Engines all lined up & being pulled to the Bone Yard. "This looked just like that"! But, i will enjoy the Dash 8's on the CN Tracks here, thanks! CN has gone Dash 8 Crazy, and that's cool! We now have the ex-C&NW Standard Cab's to go with the Dash 8-40CM Full Car Bodies, haha! And now the Dash 8 Wide Cab's! Life is good, it only took CN 22 dumb years to get them, haha! Great Video, Thanks!

  • Awesome catch Robert! They broke down in Placentia near Fullerton where I caught them.

  • Now as of right now are they all fone or are some still waiting to get scrapped?

  • @MoPacBoy They were sold to Canadian National.

  • @AmtrakSurfliner768 I know...but i heard a few were being scrapped

  • @AmtrakSurfliner768

Sold to CN you say, have to keep an eye out for them as ex-CNW Dash-8-40C's are showing up in CN paint as of 2 weeks ago!!

  • my last run 854 is gone to the junkyard....so i am in scrap condition

  • BNSF Road 854 GREAT

  • Yet again - it is proven that if something rare, bizarre, special, unique, etc. is happening on the rails, our man Trains232 will be there to get it captured on video! BRAVO.

  • Guys they were bought by CN and are going to Centralia to be repainted and then Homewood to be rebuilt.

  • @heelblocks

Yes, we sold these worthless pieces of fuck to CN. I won't miss them a bit. Now all we need to do is get CN or anyone to buy are shitty GEVOs.

  • @bobberfie Crappy National at its finest!

  • @nawrock

Im praisin Crusty Nipple after this. Now I can run a SD-60 again. Something that wont take a shit like a 6600 series locomotive.

  • @bobberfie I assume you work for BNSF...has there been any changes since Warren Buffet took over? I've also heard/read that a lot of engineers really dislike the GEVOs and these units in the video as well - what is so different about them compared to a Sd-60?

  • @nawrock

Actually a lot of crews like them because theyre too big of whiny ball babbies to run some like a SD40. I ll admit theyre nice, but Ive been working for these guys since 2000 and Ive never had a SD40 or SD60 crap out on me like a GE. One time I was running a freight w/ 2 GE's and a SD40. The 2nd GE took a crap not even 100ft out of the yard, but they told me to keep goin. Then latrer the leard took a crap so I shut it off and just ran the train w/ only the SD40 pulling.

  • @nawrock

SD60's have all the old controls and no computer, but I dont mind it. Another reason theyre so good is because BN took care of their power. Santa Fe just didnt care and was cheap and worthless like BNSF.

  • @bobberfie LOL! tell it how it is.

  • @bobberfie r u a enginee

  • @mjet401bnsf

    yes sir. Since 2000

  • they're not getting scrapped yet you guys, they were bought by CN.

  • Just insanity !!! Thank you. 5*****

  • Bummer

  • I agree I think BNSF should give two locomotive to preservation groups instead of consigning the whole lot to the scrap lines. Thanks for the video......Mike

  • Absolutes Hammer Video ,Bei soviel geballte Kraft fehlt nur noch der 10 Km lange Güterwagenteil.Es grüßt der Peter aus Germany

  • Sad to see the last of the Warbonnets C40-8W's go, but they were looking so bad that they were a disgrace to the paint scheme thanks to GE's crap paint. Glad you managed to get the last move, nice video.

  • that sucks if they scrap them all

  • would be nice if the BNSF could donate at least 2 of them to a railroad museum

  • damn! I didnt know they sold them. i thought they would use em again when traffic levels pick up again.

  • There we go =) good stuff bud

  • Yea I was gonna say some of them look decent no way they are scrapping them. Good for CN, they will get thier moneys' worth! Prob got em cheap! Smart of the BNSF to sell em off!

  • sad but awesome catch

  • according to my mate in bnsf, they are to be scrapped....

  • Lol, nope, CN bought them, theres a picture of the BNSF 846 with the "BNSF" painted over in orange, and CN written in its place.

  • @MattBNSF1991 that fuckin sucks

  • Not really a funeral procession because they were sold to CN and will be put to good use.

  • yehaw !!!! CN For the win american assholes !!!!!!

  • @yurysausage F U funny acent guy

  • @BNSF9250 muahahahahahahahahahahah !!!!!!!

  • @yurysausage go back to Can-a-dia and drink some more maple syrup!!!

  • @PRRK4Lover i'll drink my syrup in my new engines bitch !

  • Awesome catch. I have read that these units are headed for service in Canada and not for the scrap yard. Sure hope it's true as the Dash-8 has become one of my favorite engines of all time.

  • If i'm not mistaken, CN bought them, and they're probably headin to somewhere north, i'm thinkin Chicago.

  • @NahuntaSubFoamer5115 yea CN bought them.

  • Are they going to scrap all of those engines,or was it an engine transfer? Nice video 2 thumbs and favorite

  • Oh sad day.

  • what are they doing with all these locomotives??

  • It looks like BNSF has found what they like with the GEVOs. Ah well.

  • It would appear that my 841 was in the consist oh boy!
