I animated its bones accordingly. The cigarettes were modeled in the scene so they can reflect stuff and also to be used as a reference for the character to climb. But the cigarettes you see in the movie are the real ones.
okay so have 3ds max animting program but i need to now how you put an animation into the movie and all that kinda stuff so can enyboddy give me a website where i can read about that. or just tell me about it give me a link or somthing please. can you make a tutorial plzzz reply! :D thx
you need to have a camera in your scene that moves exactly like the camera in the movie. For this, you need a camera tracking solution. I used Bojou, but there are many others. The real movie is then set as the bkg in Max. Search for "camera tracking","camera match"...
yes, I made the table surface to cast shadows on it. I used blurry reflections. I also had to model the pack of cigars and make sure it matches the video. I used 2 omni's for ambient and a spot casting area shadow. Then I just had to tweak parameters to simulate the lighting of the room.
very nice. i just did my first matchmoving clip and the lighting can be pretty difficult, but i bet having models interact with real world objects is even more difficult :)
wow!! It's amazing!
I'm starting now with the 3d animation but and wish i can aproach these level!

can you do that just in 3dmax?

@audayhussain2
no you also need a program for matchmoving (camera tracking) for example "boujou" or "syntheyes"

great job on the reflection!

thanks. Few realise that the reflection is actually what augments the character in this scene.

a crappy model could look way better than a regular model as long as it had the proper reflections and shadows within the scene, IMO
What did you use for the model? What did you use for camera tracking?
RemingtonLMarkham 2 years ago
boujou for tracking, 3d studio max for model and rendering.

you could put a cigarete into his head and he would melt or get on fire :D would be funny.

I give you an A for the "merge with real shot" bit, not sure about the model's shading

Umm, Wow. How did you get the little pink guy to walk onto the cigarettes?

o wow!how did you make him go over the cigar box if hes walking on a plane. unless that cigar box is also 3d. is it?. dude you're amazing
Jprox0412 2 years ago
the cigar box is real, in the footage, but it was also made in 3d so it can cast shadows and reflect the pink character realistically.

wow, great modeling, animation and matchmoving. i didnt see one instance of a matchmove slip!
did you use an invisible ground plane to accept shadows and give a reflection?
love the lighting, thats really difficult to get perfect. what is you light setup?
