@TTsuperfan16 AOD was a difficult game because of the controls but I still maintain that the level design and atmosphere are totally there and some of the best of the series. Having said that, the last of the levels are not the greatest. I think as long as you get to experience the archaeological dig levels and the Louvre you've probably seen the best of it :)

It is the TR1 theme but it is actually part of the TR Chronicles theme tune (which goes from the TRC slideshow pics through AOD to the end). When I made this video I didn't have the soundtrack to Legend, so I improvised and thought that the TR1 sound finished it off in a full-circle kinda way.

I have played only Tomb Raider 3 through and Anniversary through (so guess the first one kinda also) I really like them : ) Lara was pretty clumsy in 3 thought, which made the game to last veeeery long. She always fell from some little rock xD'

Thanks :) I think you'll enjoy Underworld, it's very beautiful, though not as long as the original playstation one titles. TR3 is the hardest of the series so not the most perfect :P Have a go at the very first if you can!

Yes they have lost it along the way, especially with changing Lara's background as well. AOD could have been a truly brilliant game, and its levels are actually really good, it's just the glitches and controls that could have been ironed out had there been time. D: Although if you go through Anniversary's levels at an observant pace, you can see they did a pretty good job on the atmosphere (especially in Egypt). Though I won't forgive them for the camera angles :P Hope Underworld will be good!

lol yeah, the classics definitely had more of a technical feel to them in that way, you could use judgement with the grid-based system (though, of course, there was usually only one path to take anyway). As for the games, I think they were all good, I actually enjoyed them all (even 5 and AOD) when I first played them, though in retrospect AOD was flawed, number 5 was a cash-in, and the others so far have been a bit OTT, but hey xD Reinvention isn't always bad.

It's one of those atmospheric music pieces that kick in when something eventful happens, such as entering an area with some exciting or interesting things to look at. I THINK it's first heard when you reach the levels in Greece, quite possibly when you first emerge at the top of the structure in St. Francis' Folly, but of course it triggers at other points as well in later levels.

:O How come? You're right, Tomb Raider loses some stunning moments without its soundtrack. I played it on PC a year or so ago and of course the music files were missing although the cutscenes were still there. I was a bit annoyed that the sound wasn't there but you can get fixes for that now.

I wouldn't imagine they would re-release the original on PC as it was made for Windows 96 or thereabouts. :P I think it's just a case of being resigned to the fate of playing it on PS with sound, or playing it on PC without. Apparently you get extra background sound (in the Cistern and St. FF for example) on the PC version instead but I didn't get them either o_o

Yeah, if they wanted to go with the new look for new fans, good, but this, this was the Anniversary of the original, that means it is for old school fans and I still want to play something that looks like the pic. at 0:22. the pic at 0:22 is a promotional image released either before or after the first Tomb Raider. I think the area it depicts is the Tomb of Qualopec or another place in Peru.

its a very shame they didn't keep that more "skinny" concept of Lara....the series kinda died with Crystal Dynamics took the rights and decided to transform it into being more like the 2 feature films...kinda hate that.....I miss being able to do thoughs unrealistic jumps rather than shimmyin wall to wall to reach the simplist high block that they got you to do in the new ones

Some versions of TR1 have sound files missing {the Sold Out copies apparently}. If you need some patches etc, try tombraiderchronicles . c o m
