The Essa's pretext of being under the influence of drugs that night is totally baseless. He has brutally tortured and taped 25 other victims, mostly Sudanese nationals, over a long period of time. Was he under the influence all those time?
His attorney, Habib Al Mullah, claimed that the Nabulsi brothers drugged him before all his tortures??? Wow that is a great fabrication. Has it ever not occurred to him that he is being given drugs? This is beyond comprehension, reason and logic.

Essa's trial will be a real test of the UAE's justice system. As it stands, the legal case put forward to defend Essa in "Al In" criminal court lacks credibility, truth and substance: He claims that Bassam Nabulsi's brother has drugged him that night before he carried out his despicable torture and he did not remember what he has done that night. Even a nine years old child will not be able to believe this by looking at the video. His reactions are coordinated and he is under no influence.
