Pretty as ever...brings me back to when I was 17 in high school where Remote Romance and Splendido Hotel was listened by many of my hip friends in the class. Can't believe that you don't belong to my generation. Good taste!
"Splendido Hotel" is such a great album, and "Land of the Midnight Sun" is also good, though not as great IMO. That man's picking technique is devastating.
Just like the gentleman below, your video made me want to play this piece SO BADLY, as I won't be ready for Mediterranean Sundance forever. Also, there's another Japanese guy playing intimidatingly perfect "Splendido Sundance" that's freaking awesome. I won't be even close to you but let me start from perhaps "Bianca's Lullaby"...
I'm sorry, I searched on my files but I couldn't find the backing track for this. I recorded it a few years ago and maybe didn't keep a backup of the mp3 file. You can find a powertab of this piece If you google for it though.
have been listening to the al di meola for 34 years..!! and love this track!!..anyone have the original to upload??...or preferably and better still would be an extended version of this beautiful track!!..the two traditional tracks..are the tracks I've always liked best..and have stood the test of time...but thank you for uploading your version and weel done..shame you couldnt see the other guitarist..and about the reverb..tho!! Good luck xx
Not bad.But if you gonna release your wrist a bit the trell will be smoother. The flawless sound appear when the pick is "flying" over the strings.Look how Di Meola plays. The plam here looks like it stucked to the guiter.try that. And add volume to solo, please
Well, it's a hard thing for me to release the wirst when picking fast if I don't have my palm anchored to the bridge. I'll try that in any case. Thanks for the tips!
Thank you eilat, as a matter of fact I was thinking of attempting a piece from the seventies... It needs a lot more rehearsing time than the usual to cover it though.
Nicely done hyperboreal. Those songs are so wonderful to listen to, always great if you need a good 'pick me up'. Might I ask where you got the music for Silent Story in Her Eyes? Do you have tabs for this?
hey hey can u give me the partitures?

Release a wrist by soloing. That what Al told me to do.

Fantastic! Unbelievable!
Who is playing the other guitar?
ranjansantra 4 years ago
It's me playing over that previously recorded backing track.
hyperboreal 4 years ago
Thanks -
just to clarify - you played on that backing track?
how long did it take you to learn by ear?
I think you got it down exactly right - an amazing feat!
Thanks
ranjansantra 4 years ago
Yes, I really meant "on that track" not "over that track" before. Anyway, it's me all over.
It didn´t take me too long to learn those pieces by ear even though I consulted some parts with the tab that I mention on the description.
I encourage you to try to learn it by ear rather than using the only help of a tab, then you can check on the tab your work later.
Take care.

I don't have tab for "Silent story", I got it just by listening closely.
