I love this band even when I was alittle kid and and I used to get scared at there evil cuckles. It used to scare the crap out of me back then for some weird reson I was scared shitless of this band when I was young lol.
I like the demo version so much more. The fact that you couldn't hear what he was saying was kind of nice. Didn't realize this existed until just now. Kind of interesting though, that I knew and loved this song for almost a year prior to this, haha.
Someone brought the lyrical errors to my attention. At the time, I was in a major hurry, so I copied and pasted the lyrics from a site. If I have the time, I'll fix them.
Love the reference to "...all you right-winged pin heads who make screwing a big crime." Bravo, boys!
Worth noting that the lines "I've been hurt,
I'm gonna hurt you" are transmuted in "I have been hurt, I will hurt others" in Devo's later song "That's What He Said" (on the CD Adentures of the Smart Patrol).
i fucking love this song. I know it's kind of a joke song, but it makes me want to go on a killing spree "people look at me and laugh and make fun of my face, i laugh right back i don't wanna be part of the human race."
This was recorded in the studio for this soundtrack... It's not live and random... It was specific for southpark. Yes there was an old hardcore version back in the early 1970's. The 70's version was sung by Jerry not mark. Rick Rubin wanted Mark to sing it for this version but Jeffy is singing the pre-chorus. Fun song!!!
I believe this is a studio version recorded for this very album in the 90s. The fake audience applauding is in between all the tracks on the cd i think. But the original song was from early 70s. There are some early DEVO demos of this song from waaay back.

What year did this song originally come out in?

Well, it was one of the Hardcore Devo era songs but never has been recorded in the studio. This is a live version from the mid 90s i think.

I like that Isaac Hayes does guest vocals on almost all of the songs on this disc. Except for the ones he sings lead on.

I don't know if DEVO changed the words in this version, but it sounds like they specifically predicted George W. Bush in the seventies. Wow.

@oldestmanonmars Did you even read the lyrics? =| The guy in the song is pretty anti-conservative... which, you know, Bush/the Republican Party are.
