what really worries me is the lack of facts and true stories, if everything even our effords were driven towards the building of a true paradise in earth with humans using creativity as exponent, logical and self improved thinking, we could outsmart the ancients in every aspect of our lives from the old society if we could just get along. bot even the mighty and so searched for, could not outsmart nature and/or perhaps the rest of the humans who were just like them in the first place...racists.

Not sure... The Plato just writing a morality science fiction tale seems more plausible. Plato was a student of Socrates. Why doesn't Socrates pass on these details? We also do not know if the priests that Solon visited with in his trip to Egypt were possibly just having a little fun with a naive statesman/tourist. In either case, I think we all love a good story e.g. the mystery, intrigue, and drama. 'Bout to check out the next stream.

No they weren't, do your damn homework. It's a well known FACT that has been spoken of in ancient texts and artwork that the Atlanteans were white skinned and you damn well know it. If the Atlanteans were a black race, then something absolutely weird has happened to their posterity, because they've evolved backwards into a dumbed down state of mind and are living (in Africa) a life of low standards, low IQ and a slew of other non-evolving conditions.

@alexvan5 Yes, Leonard Nimoy was the narrator and host of this series. Actually, they had intended to us Rod Serling but he died shortly after narrating "In Search of Ancient Mysteries." This was an Alan Landsburg and Fred Warshofsky collabaration. Nimoy was great on the show. Rod Serling is an icon and a genius.

There are pyramids from the americas to Japan and many places in between. It's also possible that there was more than one advanced society such as atlantis. Either way I hope we discover Atlantis someday and put many of mankind's mysteries to bed. lol

There are no facts about Atlantis other then that Plato wrote about it. The civilization has been set many places in the world, all of them based on peoples own interpretations of Platos writing. And drop the bs about the name given to the mythical civilization, its archaic greek not incan.

If Atlantis actually existed the most rational place for it to have recided was the island of Thera.

if you want to hear another mysterious account of atlantis, check out the book "Edgar Cayce's Atlantis". whether it's true or not i don't regret reading that book. just in case you wanted to check out a different source than plato.

What if...someday...we are the Atlantis that a modern civilization refers to and questions...What if our history and our teachings are lost with some apocolyptic event that we have yet to realize. What if the questions we are asking now have been asked a million times over...and there is never any real answer? actually I agree Atlantians could do what we do only for some reason every 10 to 15 thousand years there is a flood that stops that civilization form advancing any further decay destroys most of the technology and people are unable to rebuild because just like today the average person doesn't know how to farm or take care of themselves if there was ever to be a global disaster most people will die by lack of survival skills

@okeeno27 The lack of a capability to hunt by most Americans would lead to most of their deaths in and of itself alone. Farming is much harder to learn and takes years. Hunting has always been our easiest way of acquiring nourishment.
