60 days from today, my brother, SGT. J. Barksdale will be coming home from Afghanistan.... I watch this video and pray for his safe return and all those who are fighting for freedom and democracy away from loved ones and friends.

I've always loved this song and this video is breath taking. Desert Storm Vet here and as I write this my cousin's unit is under heavy fire in Afghanistan. They've lost 9 soldiers in 4 days.

This song makes me sad...people shouldn't have to be forced to go to war. People overseas have families and lives and it's just not fair they have to risk it. And I know that sometimes it seems that fighting is necessary and needed but it's just so sad that these people have to go fight for whatever reasons. You probably mean more to him than you know! Keep his morale high, write him lots of letters or emails - he'll love to hear from you :) I know it's hard, and you will cry many a tear, but eventually he'll be home safe with you. My boyfriend is on his third war tour and hes been in the army for 2 1/2 years (Iraq: 1/afghan: 1 and is currently serving his 2nd tour in afghan) It seems like I havent seen him in forever and I often wonder if he is thinking about me as much as I think about him. Im still in high school and I never thought it would be this hard. I keep my phone on the loudest ringer and I check it every 5 minutes. If anybody has some advice for me that would help me out please...9 more moths and he'll be home.

This song makes me sad...people shouldn't have to be forced to go to war. People overseas have families and lives and it's just not fair they have to risk it. And I know that sometimes it seems that fighting is necessary and needed but it's just so sad that these people have to go fight for whatever reasons. I prayer that the good men and women will return home to their families soon.

To Rainingchampion - I've been with my boyfriend for 5 yrs. He is in the UK army paratrooper. I would guarantee that your boyfriend thinks of you everyday out there. You probably mean more to him than you know! Keep his morale high, write him lots of letters or emails - he'll love to hear from you :) I know it's hard, and you will cry many a tear, but eventually he'll be home safe with you. My boyfriend is on his third war tour and hes been in the army for 2 1/2 years (Iraq: 1/afghan: 1 and is currently serving his 2nd tour in afghan) It seems like I havent seen him in forever and I often wonder if he is thinking about me as much as I think about him. Im still in high school and I never thought it would be this hard. I keep my phone on the loudest ringer and I check it every 5 minutes. If anybody has some advice for me that would help me out please...9 more moths and he'll be home.
