For someone who lost faith in American music about a decade ago, what I have heard of J-rock and metal has been very refreshing. It's not the nationality itself, but it's something. Maybe I just get the feeling that it's more about the music for these guys than it is about the money or anything else. Whatever it is, I love it.

@WonderDrugEchinacea Well said! I'm in pretty much the same boat. Most of the music here in the state is cookie cutter and afraid to go beyond the mold. In J-rock they push the envelope both musically and visually.

Yeah, there are some of course, but I was really only talking about rock/metal bands. I could care less about the pop stuff. Versailles, High & Mighty Color, Dazzle Vision and Rampant all fit into the category of being great live bands because they don't seem to use a lot of computer assistance and I've only heard and I've only really listened to seven total. One I didn't like live (B'z) and two I haven't heard live (TorN (sorta), Porno Graffiti), so that's a pretty good percentage.

I love how japanese singers sound the same live as they do in their music videos unlike americain singers who need computers to make even remotly good music.

I don't think that was the implication and what cats said kinda is true. American bands and singers seem to rely heavily on computer "assistance" to make themselves sound good on the CD's you buy, but when you hear them live, it almost always sounds a lot different and that goes for both instrumental and especially vocals. The japanese bands that I've heard, for the most part, sound pretty much the same live as they do on the album version of the songs. Very talented musicians.

Nationality doesn't make you a talented musician, just look at all the japanese pop singers, I don't really want to know wthat they sound like live...

@arodar98 not nessecarely, they'r visual key, and the costumes are part of the consept of the band or something(don't know how to put it). I belive the first guitarist(Hizaki) and the bassist(Jasmine You) are supposed to be a princess and a witch. I understand people who think it looks a bit wierd, but I think that when you got skills like this, wear whatever the fu** you want to =D Imo they actually look bad-ass xD

I totally agree with davyro66.. all of them are very talented.. one of the best bands indeed.. great sound and flawless live performance.. one thing is they should have given jasmine a lot of solo too.. i mean he is God in bass.. but most of the time all the attention goes to hizaki and teru. oh well its too late now.. good luck whoever is going to replace jasmine.. to jasmine, sleep well great one..

Let's use, for example, Shout & Bites, not only TERU does the main solo, he is actually lead.

Let's look at SFORZANDO, TERU is lead...

Aristocrat's Symphony, the main solo is divided between both guitarists.

The Love from a Dead Orchestra, TERU does the climatic solo on that one too...

So, only HIZAKI does solos on KAMIJO's songs...?

I saw the band live and they totally ROCKED! I love Kamijo's voice and he makes a gorgeous vampire! The entire band are musical geniuses who can never be matched in talent. It was a sad day for the music world when we lost Jasmine Yuu who will be greatly missed.
