  • I believe each race is started once everyone has launched and been given time to get to altitude. The courses are mapped and navigated using GPS equipment. The first pilot to successfully navigate the course and land at the finish point wins, I think. Each pilot's GPS will track their flight path to ensurethat no corners are cut. I've never flown, and I probably never will! But it was a beautiful sight.
