I believe that PMCs are going to be a regret of teh 21st century, not enough control over them, and no legal infrastructure for handling it "when it goes wrong". But atm PMCs are doing work that keeps troops doing highpriority tasts without having to worry abotu close protection for corporate/industrial targets.
