  • I want to thank you for posting this, My Questions are, what are the daily treatments for this condition? what do professional doctors suggest or prescribe on how to cope with this condition, and does this condition usually increase in adulthood?

  • @BXBOMBERFOREVER Thank you for watching!! Honestly, I'm no doctor haha I made this in high school for a project and I'm a junior in college now. There are plenty of sites with that infor tho!

  • @BXBOMBERFOREVER I know it can't be treated, but therapy is usually recommended. The rest I would do some research online and poking around. But again. thanks for watching :)

  • I'm a Hypochondriac I am 15 I have been dealing with this since I was 9 years old, It is very hard to deal with. the diseases I worry the most about are. HIV/AIDS (I'm not Gay), Brain Tumour, Kidney Problems, Asma, Alzhiemers, Heart Problems, Lymes Disease. Neurogurl81 Your not alone..

  • @HolidayDrunkMonkey yikes, that is way too much to worry about as a 15 year old! I wish I could just tell you to enjoy your life and be a kid, but obviously I have no idea what it's like to suffer from what you have. Especially as a 9 year old, wow. I'm sure there are indeed a lot of people though that can relate with you and can give advice to you that would be more fitting then me saying "enjoy your life". I really hope you can conquer this and enjoy the little things tho. best of luck to you!

  • thanks for the response..although i really more of a verbal person, i am better at explaining over the phone vs email....but ur totally right, ty!

  • Is there anyone out there with Somatization disorder and/or Hypochondriasis that can talk over the phone.....Im desperately looking for someone to relate with

  • @Neurogurl81 i hope you find someone, however a lot of people are going to be very reluctant giving their numbers out over the internet. maybe ask for email instead and chat that way, it could be just as useful and relieving :) good luck! and i hope you find that someone to relate to. also check online for some chat rooms those can also be helpful

  • I'm a hypochondriac and have anxiety problems, and I'm only 18. In the past 3 years, I've thought I've had a heart attack, angina, asthma, a detached retina and tittinus, just to mention a few. I was actually misdiagnosed at the doctors and so was taking asthma inhalers for 6 months before being told I don't have it. Its a very debilitating condition, and I google my symptoms so much.

  • @ben9DB 18? wow, I'm 19 and i can't even imagine having to put up with that every day. Especially all through out high school, that must of been so tough on you :( googling your symptoms is so common I was actually doing it five minutes ago before I went to youtube haha, and it's terrible because it put so many thoughts into my head, i can only imagine how hard it would be for a person suffering with hypochondriasis. But the important thing is to stay strong :) and thank you for sharing

  • Thank you for this. I'm totally going thru this and have since 2006. As soon as you went to that google site I was like "oh yeah THAT'S ME!" It's a double edge sword. I found all kinds of crazy things wrong with me!

  • @UnshackledWoman Thank you for your feedback! It means a lot to me. The internet is probably the worst possible source for checking for health because it puts so many things into your head, trust me I even do it myself haha. I know plenty of people going through the same thing and I know how hard it is, that's why I am so happy so many people are sharing their stories on my video. So again, thank you for your input it means a lot :)

  • @Jessica141996 my mom is a hypochondriac big time. sometimes it's hard to understand because i just want to tell her she is fine, but she really isn't. after all these comments and doing this project, though, im starting to learn how serious it is.

  • Hypochondria is a really debilitating anxiety disorder. I have suffered with it for almost 8 years. Sometimes it gets very bad and other times it gets better. It makes it so you cannot really enjoy anything in life as there is always a lingering thought in the back of your mind about a health concern. You avoid people and places for fear of a panic attack which can hit at any moment .Health anxiety usually comes along with other disorders and it can be a pretty complex .

  • @21pperZ Thank you for the insight, i really appreciate all of these comments because i am learning so much. I made this video in high school and i am now in college, but the matter still compels me. I hate seeing videos of this disorder taken as a joke. After reading these comments i am beginning to see it in a new perspective as well. so thank you so much for taking the time to tell your story, i really do appreciate it.

  • Everything tht i think is wrong with me i tend to search on google abt it and it scares the crap out of me cuz i always think i have cancer or im dying of dehyrdration or something like tht i always think my throat is closing uo or my heart is just guna stop beating, I have anxiety really bad too so tht dnt help at all...!!

and i agree, but for some people it is something that is extremely hard. luckily there are people like you out there that can offer advice and help to those who need it!

    thanks for sharing!

  • @hamtaro9848 a lot of people with hypochondriasis also suffer with anxiety. i'm sorry to hear that you are one of them :( but thank you for sharing your story. i feel as though if every one shares there stories they will see that they are not alone.

  • this is me... i always think i have herpes or genital warts or even cancer. my friends and family always say im fine and i always go 2 the doctor and they say im fine but i think im not! its ruining my life!!! i always feel that im alone, i though research makes it better but it makes it worse! i cant help searching what i have and even one single bump i think itll be herpes i need help!

  • @raicaster the start to getting help is always admitting that you need it. and you have done that, which means things are only going to get better from here. read all these comments! so many people are feeling the same way you are, so you're arent alone. and i really cant stress that enough! next step is finding help. look up some places you can go to get some help and find people you can talk to! most importantly, stay strong :)

  • I also remember counting my heart beats and if i was 1 beat off i'd go spaz and tell me dad to call the doctor.

  • I used to be a Hypochondriac, From the ages of 8-13 i was completely scared about my health and i thought i could drop dead any second.

When i woke up in the morning with Red on my chest i thought it was a skin disease, but everyone does who's white.

It all started with a childrens Ceminar when i was 8 years old about Insects and bugs, scared me shitless and i thought i was going to die every second of the day.

Feels fantastic to live free again!

  • @WolfZeroBlade that is such good news that you were able to over come this!! so many comments i receive are from people who feel like they are alone. many of them admit they need help, but they dont know where to get it. im so happy to see that you are able to live free again :) i hope people read your comment and feel a sense of hope!

  • @misskristinyoo Well because i was young i was easy to manipulate myself and i just said to myself "Well i've been alive for this long so i must be fine" and i kept telling myself that and it was easy to get over. =)

  • This is me, i always think there is something wrong with me, my friends and my family dont understand i always feel like im going to die and i feel alone.!

  • @MakeMeBleed13 but you arent alone! everyone who has commented on this video feels the same way you do. there are so many people out there that feel the same as well and that is why I made this, so you know that you arent alone and you can get help:) stay strong and soon enough your friends and family will understand

  • That's me in a nutshell....thanks for sharing and more importantly, caring!

  • @charmbracelet81 and thank you for sharing as well! its always great to see these comments, stay strong and positive :)

  • great film work for a high school production.

  • @egiap03 Thank you so much! That means a lot.

  • This is EXACTLY how I feel..

    I have G.A.D. and I made

    a WebMD account just

so I can look at the

    different diseases I

    could have..

  • yea I know how this feels very much so. everyday I think I have a new disease or condition because I can't figure out why I have headaches and high blood pressure.

  • is horrible live like this, im that, and is not funny...u.u

  • who said it was funny? because you're right its not. that why we made this video..so people realize this is serious and we should start taking it serious.

  • Why in so many videos about this do I see people fainting or yelling in public or something like that? I'm a huge hypochondriac but I've never had anything of that nature happen to me...

  • well in my psychology class our teacher showed us a lot of videos about doctos describing hypochondria. and when they described it usually they discussed panic attacks so that was the best way i could capture them

  • hypochondriac is a serious disorder.. i suffer from it , i have had 9 blood tests in the last year,im going insane!!!!

  • i agree it is serious, and im sorry you suffer from it. stay strongg

  • im like this. you did this perfectly.
