Schirmacher should at least have the decency to read Badiou before interjecting so inadequately. For Badiou the conception of infinity is developed through his topology of ordinals and so natural multiples (transivite sets whose members are also transitive) and with the second existential seal of ontology with regards to the existence of a limit ordinal (below which there are only successor ordinals, the Other for the others).
