Sir, could you pleeeeease let Ron Paul know what you're saying!!! You should be the treasure secretary man!!! Please do! Let him know your simple idea!!!!
One aircraft carrier costs $4 billion, one submarine costs $1.8 billion, one stealth bomber is $1.5 billion, the Pentagon's budget is over $700 billion, the foriegn wars are well over $1 trillion, the cost of the space shuttles is puny by comparison, but everything goes to Wall Street and the military.
SpaceX is now underway, as robotguy said it would be. My first thought at the news reports was - whose interests are being served when an international space program is suddenly privatized? If space exploration was truly an international pursuit, which it should be, & if it is in the interest of all humanity, then private industry cannot possibly represent that! It doesn't make sense for the US to drop this, it only make sense to expand it & continue to involve the cooperation of other nations.
Bill please never stop spreading this message about the international banking cartel and how they're enslaving the world with their debt based currencies. I first heard of the Money Masters from a friend and downloaded it from The Pirate Bay. I was so impressed I bought the DVD and your new book for $40. You're awesome and I love how you get right to the root of the problem in such a clear direct way without beating around the bush.
Bill, this is really disgusting and dispictable. "o" is SO PHONEY !! Thank you boy27585 for your American Pride. We need MORE people like you and all others here....I think "o" was viewing through a purple haze.....per his book.
NASA doesn't make the New World Order any tribute money therefore governments will lose interest in it. The Global warming hype is a new type of tax engine to prop up taxation and thus debt which runs our debt based economies and the one of the new modeled One World Government which will further enslave us all with no recourse for reprisals against an unjust government.
Bill Still makes such a great argument -- i would only add that the traditional argument for killing space exploration (why not spend that money on the poor & hungry on earth) always bothers me -- pls. don't anyone pit programs like NASA vs. earthly pursuits -- keep that argument for money spent on bombs, war & celebrity entertainment (hollywood, sports) -- that's a much better comparison, because none of that money advances the human condition like the pursuit of knowledge does
Manned space will not end. And it will not have to rely on Russia or China. The nature of NASA is not what you think it is.
Private industry is ready to take over the relatively mundane task of getting men to and from orbit. The Russian government hires a private company to launch the Soyuz. United Launch Alliance operates the Shuttle, not NASA.
Perhaps the biggest misconception: the Ares 1/ Ares 5 implementation is not the Constellation program. (continued)
Ares 1 (the manned part) and Ares 5 (the heavy-lift cargo part) share only a paint job with the STS (NASA is fond of acronyms; the Shuttles are officially known as the Space Transportation System). One other thing they share: kludge upon kludge upon kludge to "fix" a bad design.
SpaceX is testing their Falcon 9 rocket in a few weeks. It is already on the pad. SpaceX started from a standing start at about the same time the Vision for Space Exploration started. (continued)
@robotguy Well, I'm happy to support Space-X, but it is no comparison to the facilities and talent of NASA. I grew up in the field. I've worked in the field. I'm not a rookie.
@bstill3 It is difficult for me to believe that a president who nationalizes just about anything he can is doing something right when he privatizes the most shining example of American exceptionalism -- the one thing govt has done really, really well. You might be right, but I'd put it in about the 5% range.
SpaceX has spent 1% of what NASA projected for its Ares spacecraft at least 5 years down the road.
Now instead of spending billions of dollars on developing something that SpaceX and a dozen other companies are already using their own money to develop, NASA can just buy rides to space. and spend those billions on the next steps: orbiting propellant depots, vehicles that never leave space but are reused (such as refuelable lunar transfer stages), cutting edge stuff. (continued)
In the meantime, private companies like SpaceX and Armadillo and Masten and Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic and literally dozens of others are growing by leaps and bounds and getting ready to put _thousands_ of people into space on a regular basis, Bigelow Aerospace already has two pressurized space stations in orbit as test modules, with plans for hotels in orbit.
Space is not NASA. And NASA is not the sum total of the American presence in space.
@robotguy This is all interesting, but again, I'm suspicious. Why does a guy who wants to nationalize EVERYTHING suddenly wants to privatize something that has been good for America and the world?
@bstill3 I wouldn't be surprised in the least to find this is a Trojan horse. SpaceX completed another tanking test today, and now only has to test out their range safety equipment. They expect to launch no earlier than May 8. Bear in mind that this is a test program and SpaceX expects to lose a few rockets. Don't be surprised if the first launch failure by SpaceX from the Cape is used as an excuse to cut the smaller companies out of NASA contracts, favoring BoLockMart again.
@bstill3 Your kiding right. Because it makes too much sense. Why would nasas spend 1 bil on a rocket when it can be done by outside contractor for 100 mil. I'm pretty conservative but that's the whole wonder of the free market
@MikDonsen -- numbers are easily exaggerated in order to win contracts. Once the NASA manned-space program is dead and it's engineering talent dispersed, don't you think the price may rise?
the bankers would like to finance another $3B in debt, i just think they want to layoff more nerds and export more jobs to communist china. nerds get it. cops don't. henry george felt strongly against silverbugs too. gold and silver are best left in the free market as a commodity uncorrupted by the special interests working with the state.
@bstill3 What I've seen so far has been very good indeed. I just happen to think that, like a stopped clock being right twice a day, Obama got it right in canceling Ares - either that or he was so disinterested that he unwitting let someone competent (General Bolden) do the dirty work and turn manned launch services over to the private sector. Now, off to watch the rest of your videos and learn some more.
Great report, Bill. I'm glad you mentioned the Bank of North Dakota model. It's no coincidence that ND is the only state that is safely in the black with their budget.
@jelleeee1 This is Huston... we are aware of the problem and we have experts in North Dakota with a solution. Hang tight while we disseminate the information to the general public. OK everyone (this means you) get on the horn and let others know what we need to do.
LOL "Houston we have a problem" that was priceless. Thanks

The real reason this doesn't make the evening news is because the media is controlled and they don't want us to know the real truths.
