i believe from all that I have read that the s3200, s3000 are closer to the mpc-3000 and the later s3000xl was mostly made in china and more on par with the mpc-2000xl than the mpc3000. I love my mpc-3000 and will be soon buying a maxed out 3200 to compliment it.
Hey just wanted to know about how drums sound on that 3200xl cuz i heard it has the same converters as the mpc 3000 and should have digital i/o so i can chop it up on software right? Or maybe via scsi through recycle 2.0. I have a mpc 2500 and wanna take advantage on the drums for this machine. Is there anyway u can do a tutorial on just sampling and chopping drums i'm really diggin the drums on here they BANG! Big TIME!
I don't know if they have the same convertors, people always seem to think they do just cos it has 3000 in the name but the 3200XL and any of the original series came after the MPC3K
Personaly I still think the mpc3k sounds tighter. Some one told me the 2500 sounds better compared to the 2000/xl and more like a mpc3k but I don't know as I never played a 2500. The only way to chop with software with these is through the SCSI.Look through my vids I already did a how to chop drums on it.
I have the S3000XL sampler. I don't know if it sounds more like the mpc3k or mpc2k cause i don't have one to compare with. whats your take on the sample engine of the s3000xl in your opinion?
does it come with everything you see on this video ? (obviously not the dudes bedroom ) becasue i saw one for sale on amazon with just the bottom part
people buy rack samplers for various reasons, in actuality, you dont need a S3200xl if you have the mpc. some people just like having gear, some people like the sound of sample played through the rack rather than the mpc. i buy alot of akai samplers because, akai, e-mu and ensoniq are all out of business, and they made AWESOME equipment. akai is now owned by NUMARk, who makes generic dj equipment,
well most electronic music instruments have midi, and youre going to need a sequencer to "make music" most people now days use a PC or MAC running cubase, pro tools, logic, etc....
I have all those programs and still prefer the mpc as my sequencer because its the first sequencer i ever used and its so easy. it never has bugs, it never freezes, it never fucks up, ever. all my mpc's are rock solid workstations. mpc 3000le, mpc 4000, mpc 60, and mpc 2000xl....
Thanks for your s3200 tutorials, I got a s3000xl and was having trouble with it, but your info helped a lot, I could probably figure it out on my own, but I'm LAZY, lol!! Thanks

two seperate samplers.

wow you have alot of equipment , nice :P
would an s32000 work well with virtual dj because thats all i got so far :( i do have FL studio 7 but i have no idea how to make good things with it
samdaftpunk 2 years ago
i dont know what virtual dj is.
FL is good man. i've made plenty of beats with FL.
youre going to have to get alot of vst instruments off ebay or free downloads, and get alot of WAV drums samples off ebay. FL is great.
I got FL8, it sounds alot better than FL7.
