I was talking to a friend on the phone and he mentioned finding himself on youtube and directed me to this Vid, both himself and his Dad appear in the film.
Bill who can be seen at 1:06:03 his main memory was the good food served up to the crew and extras, his Dad was "Joe the Blow" one of the shop stewards. who can be seen at 0:43:39.
Great film. The only problem is that the form of working-class self-organisation depicted is much closer to anarcho-syndicalist ideas (as seen in revolutionary Spain during the civil war) than Marxism/Trotskyism which focus on the centralised control of a party and the State, rather than workers' self-management. I suspect the references to the latter reflects Jim Allen's political partisanship (he was a member of the Socialist Labour League, the forerunner of the Workers' Revolutionary Party).
Excellent.love jim allens work and ken loach, put the two together and you have utter brilliance. If you enjoyed this then you should watch the flickering flame.I would also like to say how good peter Kerrigan is,unfortunatly he never got the recognision he deserved.what a fine example of British television this is.Thak you for uploading.

Surprised and thrilled at the inventive production (clearly in the face of a small budget). Involving stuff.
