@fellipealcateia Unless I'm mistake, Quest for Glory V is a Windows game, and DOSBox only plays DOS games, not Windows games.

well it doesn't work for me I downloaded dosbox and I have shadows of the empire PC game and I have tried everything you said but it is not working, it will not recognise the drive, but I did notice your slash thing is going the opposite way mines is I can not get it to go the same way maybe that's why, god knows but I sure as hell don't, yes a bit angry as I just bought this game from playdot com and I can not get it to play as it is old.

Sigh, another Youtube DOSBox tutorial that advises people wrong. Why do people upload these when they obviously don't know what they are doing?

1. You always mount the HDD as c in DOSBox, it doesn't matter what the real drive letter is.

2. Especially on Vista/Windows 7 you should keep the DOS games in your user folder: c:\users\your_name\

3. Don't ever mount the game folder as c, instead use parent folder that you mount as c, and put your DOS games in that folder in their own folders.

4. ....

Like every DOS 'simple' tutorial, this one doesn't work for me. When I've mounted the C drive and typed in the game name, it just calls it an 'illigal' command. >:/

I downloaded blake stone from the link you have and it didn't work. All the files don't make sense. It's Install.exe which does nothing and 2 other files which again, do nothing. Dos box didn't work either. Says the file does not exist. Any help here?

I have been trying to set up Theme Hospital. I have the DOSbox up, and it says : Drive C is mounted as local directory c:\HOSPITAL\ and then under it is Drive Z is mounted as Internal Virtual Drive. Everytime I try to type in hospital\ (which is what i unzipped the file to) it just says illegal command. Am assuming I either unzipped it to an incorrect file...or something. If you know how to help me please!!! thank you for uploading the vid btw.

DOS stands for "Disk Operating System".

In DOS, instead of clicking icons to open programs, you type text to open a program.

For example, if you had Windows 3.11 installed and wanted to run it,

at the HDD you installed it on, you would go to the root of it (an example: C:\) and you would type in "Win" and DOS would open Windows 3.11. DOS is not the oldest OS . I think that Unix is the oldest OS. Unix is from 1969, and the oldest version of DOS is from around 1980.
