@highlander985 this is Autodesk company not software .. you can buy Autodesk 3ds Max or Autodesk Maya for 3,500$.. i recommend you 3ds max much easier with alot of tutorials .

@mohanidzhd 3ds max is not as good as maya watch a review if you want has a lot of special visual effects and you can make a whole movie by it very easy!

@Visionhigher have you ever started up smoke? Smoke is awesome, but then again it's bloody difficult. Adobe & FCS is way more user friendly. Smoke is coming down to a consumer price range, but still it's over 10.000 euro's. If adobe and FCP does the job.. why switch to something so high end and actually made for the absolute top in the film industry?

@chrismarkshva yes but FCP and Adobe does not match the level of smoke Autodesk , see if you notice went try to make stuff so real on video Final cut and adobe is just regular programs but like went you use adobe after effect it look too cartoonish , but if notice smoke make things so real that is impressive price wise it will become affordable soon but yes is really hard to learn

@Visionhigher Totally agree. Smoke is awesome! But the only thing is say is that i don't think smoke will leave adobe and FCS waaaayyyy behind :p. It's so advanced that only professionals are able to use it. Then again it's still very expensive. I think that Autodesk remains for the high end users. FCS and Adobe are there for Pro's as well as for less experienced users.

yes it is. nuke is like autodesk composite (toxik), but the hi-end software is not avalibe for win. if you have a very powerful machine you can get it in linux, and now some stuff is on mac's OS snow leopard. for win you can have maya, 3dmax, mudbox, motionbuilder, and others... and just need a decent pc.

Autodesk don't develop some software for windows. The hi-end software (Inferno, Flame and Flin) are only avalible for linux and IRIX. You can find combustion or toxic for win, but they are in a low level.
