Matt, I like your response, because it shows that you're neutral on your position on help for webmasters. (Involving Yahoo) Anyway, it stands out to me, that Google might want to adopt this feature... Imagine the storage-space the indexing would save on Google's servers. (Like ads included widgets that work dynamically) It might be worth looking in too.
Matt, in response to your comment about Yahoo's content targeting tag not being in common use... of course not, it is Yahoo. Who optimizes for Yahoo Search? If Google implemented it, you can bet it would see widespread adoption pretty quickly however. I know I've been wanting a tag like this for some time.
I believe taking out 'leave a comment' can be very important. As a webmaster I see people doing 'google search for operators' to find weaknesses in some of my clients older websites. From these searches and probes for weaknesses I get bad traffic. If I could block 'leave a comment' my clients would benefit until they have the funds to update the WYSIWYG back end.
Great question and thanks for all of the vids Matt!.
I suppose this feature could be achived by using JavaScript to print text, as Google won't index that. Right?
