bargeanimal,I am guessing that you are not in the UK because here bullying IS a criminal offence and can be reported to the police, and the perpetrator can be prosecuted
If someone is being bullied at work why should they leave their job? They have not done anything wrong! If their employer does not protect them from the bullying every employee in UK has the statutory right to make a complaint to an Employment Tribunal, regardless of whether they have made a complaint to the police or not
It is NOT simple. It is extremely difficult. Bullying is NOT a criminal offense. If you are a victim, 1. leave. 2. take them on. There is no option of living with it. You need to be very clever. Document everything. Think like your enemy. You can beat them, but you need to be very clever.
Chan,It is simple, you can ask the bully to stop, if you don't want to do that you can speak to your employer and ask them to ensure it stops. If they don't stop it or there are repercussions you can take your employer to Employment Tribunal where they can be fined and you can receive compensation. Finally bullying is a criminal offence amd you can complain to the police
I was only in my job for a year and was bullied for 9 months...none stop. No one stuck up for me because they didnt want to rock the already unsteady boat. I ate myself silly, never slept and drank every night. Ever since then I've worked on building my self confidence back up...and now I have the best work mates. Their so good that I call the friends now.
