  • Awesome. Where can I get Greek yogurt?

  • @shannonlatrise grocery store in the yogurt section

  • I am a product junkie...Maybe I can start a 12-step program and be like you! ;-) Your hair is gorgeous, and CRAZY THICK! Mine is kinky-curly, but it's fine...I'll probably only need four sections, PERIOD! LOL I spend so much time looking for holy grail products...Maybe I just need to get back to basics, like you! :-)

  • I have been watching natural hair videos for the longest to try to convince myself to go natural. I am so scared!!

  • Soooo glad I found this. I just bought cart full of greek yogurt. I dont care for the taste on its own, but now I have something to do with it :)

  • I love how springy your hair is. It's like mini hair slinky's on your scalp. lol

  • I am going to try this deep conditioner.

Please watch my video and tell me what you think? It is dumb but it was my first video. It is my hair diary. Thanks

  • Why the vinegar?

  • Nice work ,thank you.

  • I started doing this a couple months ago and love, love, love it. I desided to put this process to the test and stopped using it for a while. EEK, I lost so much hair, never again will I stop this process. I and my Hair love It. Thank you for sharing.

  • Does it have to b Greek yogurt??

  • I was wondering, is it okay to do this every week?? I'm just not sure because of all the protein it contains.

  • @gibel13 I do, and have nothing but good results no matter how many times a week I do the yagurt treatment.

  • I love watching your videos. I haven't tried either of your recipes but I think I like this one better. I'll have to try it this week! :)

  • I wanna try this but my hair is not long enough it will definitely get to my scalp . Any suggestions?

  • Hi I wondering if it had to b Greek yogurt or could I use plain organic yogurt?

  • Hey. I am getting ready to do my big chop!!! I am super excited. I was thinking of doing this for my hair to get the moisture it needs to wear it out. Since my natural hair is only about 4 inches do you think I could take it up to my roots?

  • Oh, God, the smell...BUT, my 4-something hair's been breaking off because it hasn't been getting enough protein. Tried this and felt an immediate difference when I was rinsing it out. Can't wait to see the difference in a month or so's time.

  • why do you put aloe vero juice?

  • Have you ever tried rinsing your hair in cold water? It actually makes your hair look even shinier! :-)

  • I've tried this also and it is simply wonderful!!!! I have 3c/4a hair. I do this every other week:) Thank you for this tutorial.

  • Can you do this every week? BTW I love all of your videos very helpful God bless :)

  • thanks i will try it this weekend!

  • Where did you get your spray bottle. Looks like a nice misting from the nozzle. The ones at Sally only stream the water out instead of mist.

  • @myleagirlable you can buy it cheap at the Vitamin shoppe

  • can you use regular vinegar for this conditioner?

  • My hair isn't as long as yours, how would I avoid it touching my scalp? I really moisture in my hair

  • does the yogurt deep condtioner replace your mayo deep conditioner? Thanks for the Video

  • Comment removed

  • Glad you added the information about protein sensitivity, because if I had tried this my hair would have been a mess. lol Do you have a version of this process without the protein. Thanks

  • I'm so glad I found this video. I've been searching for a good natural conditioning/protein treatment alternative to using Aphogee Protein treatment. I will be using this next week for sure. Thanks!

  • How do you know if your hair is protein sensitive

  • Very easy to follow, thank you for sharing. Hi @MsCoCo8799. Thanks for the link on LHCF.

  • Just tried this for the first time today. I'm IN LOVE!!! Never has detangling been so easy. I had very little shedding, and the knots and kinks just melted away. This will be my new staple DC. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe!

  • Do you still use the Huetiful Steamer once a month or anything?

  • Can I use any greek yogurt or is it the same?

  • Love it I have a twa right now, but I will give it a try when my hair grows out. Great info love your hair.

  • So I tried this because I hate de-tangling. I didn't add any essential oil, the smell didn't bother me. I will be using this for the rest of my life. Seriously. I usually shed a baby wookie when I detangle my hair. I was used to all that shedding. But this! Oh my goodness... I shed such a small amount of hair, I could not believe it. Thanks for sharing, this one was truly a gem.

  • Have you ever tried detangling your hair with a comb using this mix? I'm wondering how that would look/work...?

  • whats the name of this song??

  • @Loveisall129 it's in the description box.

  • @mochalatte233 right, thx

  • you're so classy :)

  • Can't wait to do this but I still have a TWA so I'll wait til next year

  • I noticed that when I used this my curls looked amazing and pattern much looser however when I washed it out they didn't. So I'm assuming my hair likes protein. Do you know of anything I can leave in my hair to get this same outcome?

  • Whit, I tried this method and my hair felt a bit straw like. I left the conditioner in for about 45 mins. During your tests, did leaving it on longer have this similar effect? I will try it again though. I seem to have more hair breakage vs. shedding than I'd like. Any other recommendations to reduce/prevent breakage would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • what do use to catch hair from clogging your drain???

  • Honey you are a goddess! You are awesome and I will def be trying this when I can run to the grocery store again!

  • what about the roots of your hair?

  • I've been eating greek yogurt with ground flaxseeds in it for quite some time now, but I've never thought to use the yogurt or the flaxseeds in my hair. Will definitely try this and the flaxseed gel. Thanks Whit! =)

  • Hey Nap!!

I noticed you said that your strands "melted apart" with this mixture. How do you think this would work for loc removal?

  • Fantastic!!;) I've been deep conditioning with Greek yogurt for some time now and absolutly LOVE IT!;0) I've never added the ACV to the mix... I normally do an ACV rinse after i deep condition...however I will diffinetly try ur method;) you've been my go to gal on YT!;) thanks for sharing the wealth!;) xx

  • I finally tried this. Well sort of. I'm vegan so I tried apple cider vinegar with conditioner. It was amazing. I have never been able to finger comb my hair without combing it first until now. I will definitely be working this into my routine. Thanks!

  • Now I'm wondering 3 things.

1: What happens if you add Silk Amino Acids which are supposed to detangle just as easily and add shine and penetrate the hair shaft for those who are protein sensitive and want to strengthen and soften the hair.

2: If I buy a flavored greek yogurt like honey greek or strawberry greek or something, will it take care of the smell if you just want to apply down to the root and just rinse out.

3: Will Braggs do more than Heinz..

  • your hair is sooo long and beautiful!

  • my hair hated it :( like naptural85 says... def. not for protein sensitive hair.

  • No matter how many natural hair videos i watch i always come back to napturals ..

  • Thank u it's easy , natural, the smell does not bother me. Loved the way my hair turned out.

  • omg thanks this works great and my hair feels great and moisturized

  • Can I use my steamer with this

  • @Naptural85, I wanted to let you know that I tried this deep conditioner last night, with a few additions (I added a small amount...half tbsp...of over the counter deep conditioner) to the yogurt. I didn't have greek yogurt, and it was non fat, but I must say.....this is so amazing. My curls have never been better and more bouncy. My husband asked me to keep my hair "like this" as long as I can LOL. Kick ASS!! Thanks, gyrly!

  • OK, i've officially found a hair crush!!! Love the technique and all. I will be trying this one.!!!

  • Skeptical after first section but continued anyways. So glad i did! It feels so soft!! It effortlessly removed my shed hairs!! It also worked really well on my skin!!! Thanx!

  • Is there any significance to using greek yogurt? Or just your preference?

  • your hair is sooo freakin long i love it.

  • Thank you. I love this deep conditioner and detangler! I have done it twice and it really does condition my hair and it has pretty much made the frizz go away.

    Thanks again!

  • This looks great, my hair's breaking a little, I'll give it a go!

  • @ashababe56 same here! My hair isn't as strong as this lady's :D

  • I did this conditioner earlier this week and it is fabulous!

  • i tried it!

At first I hated it because when I tried to comb my hair out in the shower. It did NOT detangle easily and I pulled out more hair than usual. But 2 weeks later, I kept noticing that my hair has been continuously moisturized and feels stronger than ever. The only regimen change is the greek yogurt. Thus, it really works!! I'm definitely keeping this as a deep treatment!!

  • I finally tried this and got confusing results. I started in the back of my hair, where my hair is actually finer, and as soon as the yogurt touched my hair, it felt crunchy and stringy. I was afraid, so I didn't do my whole head and left it on for not even ten minutes. But when I rinsed it out, even though my hair felt gross, it looked great! I had a LOT of definition. So I'm a little confused. I am guessing I am protein sensitive? Maybe I will try regular yogurt with a little less protein

  • @misskriss2012 same with me! I left it in my hair for quite some time tho. Maybe 2 hours? And after I rinsed it out it felt like straw yet it was sooo defined and not frizzy. I dont know how to feel about it lol so i put a little leave in conditioner over it and it feels fine now. idk. maybe it was cuz i left it in so long.

  • I tried this with Salon Care Cholesterol Cream instead of yogurt and it was perfect! Thanks, Whitney!

  • Thanks so much for this. I tried a variation of this last week. I forgot the ACV.lol but i added honey and a few other essential oils. My knots came out easily. I had been wearing my hair out all week and this usually results in lots of knots. My hair is well conditioned and super shiny. Thanks again.

  • @smilingatthesky I'm adding honey next time. Thanks!

  • I am going to have to try this out. Shinny tangled hair and its cheaper! I am all there. Thank you for sharing.

  • Hi Naptural...I had to try this but I only had regular plain yogurt. I just used it and it is sitting in my hair now. Is there a difference from using plain yogurt vs. greek?

  • :( because of you i wish i would have never relaxed my hair.

  • Random question, have you ever tried henna to condition your hair?

  • Amazing hair :) I think I might have to try this!

  • Your hair is beautiful. I am going to try this method as soon as I wipe the green jealousy away after looking at your hair growth over the months.

  • What about using Greek yogurt with honey? They actually sell them together...

  • how do you know if your hair is protein-sensitive?

  • naptural -- do you know if this can be done on straight and thick asian hair? i love your vids even though i dont have the same hair type!!! :)

  • @dzlor Indians have used yogurt in their hair forever, so I'm sure yogurt would be good on your hair. It has so many nutritive benefits, I think everyone should use it. :-)

  • I tried eating it and did not like the taste, so this is great I can actually use it as a DC/detangler.

  • Does protein sensitive mean that your hair gets tough afterwards? cuz thats what happened to me T.T (only in some parts) n luv the music!

  • have you ever thought about using aloe vera juice instead of apple cider vinegar

  • AHHHH im so friggin jealous ur hair is boob length that is lik my goal in life

  • You are the bomb! Love your videos

  • I'm curious, during ur "testing period" did u try this recipe w/non-fat greek yogurt? I ask b/c I accidentally bought non-fat yogurt for the mix and it made my hair hard and stiff.

I'm curious if u had a similar reaction w/ non-fat yogurt while testing. If u did, then that would let me know that I should try to recipe w/ whole yogurt rather than abandon it all together. My hair was difficult to manage after so i don't want to repeat w/ whole yogurt if it will produce the same results. Thanks

  • I HAVE THE SAME BOWL:)

  • Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial with us. My hair is has more shine, less frizz and more manageable. I didn't have yogurt so I used mayo. This moisturizing deep condition is great for my hair. I haven't had to use any cream to my night-time twist for the last two days.

  • How would you incorporate this on your wash day? Would adding coconut milk, avocado, or shea butter help or hurt?

  • So I just did this and I love it thanks @naptural85

  • what is the ph of this?

  • will sour cream work as well too?

  • what temperature would you suggest rinsing hair with? after this DC and also just after washes, etc

thanks, and i love the videos! i tell all my friends on-campus about them :D

  • I wanted to try this, but I have short hair so I knew it would get on my scalp. I added couple of drops tea tree oil to my yogurt and I did not have a problem with odor. Thanks for all you tips!

  • Wow

  • umm interesting.. i have 2 try this

  • omg your hair is so long. i had no idea it was at bra strap length until i watched this vid.

  • I've gotta try this! I love your channel!

  • How often do you use this recipe and how often do you wash your hair?

  • @MrsCRIlyas Hello and how are you? Although I'm not Naptural85 :) in the vid, she says that she uses this recipe about every two weeks, in between washes & I believe she said that she washes her hair with product (i.e. with a diluted mixture of apple cider vinegar and the Terresentials Hair Wash), once a month-every month in a half, you can refer to these videos- " 'Washing Natural Hair' Easy Method Terressentials Hair Wash"; "How To Wash Mini Twists"-this explains how often she washes her hair

  • @MrsCRIlyas (comment continued) Oh and another video you can refer to is titled "Lazy Day Wash and Go 'Natural Hair'" and this shows how she rinses her hair in between washing her hair with an actual product. I hope this helps girl!!

  • @Puppylion715 Thank you. You have been very helpful!

  • @MrsCRIlyas Awww..you're very welcome! I hope that I didn't leave anything out but if I did, I'm pretty sure that she covers them all in the videos, in description box and/or the annotations in the videos. Take care girl!

  • Omg I just tried this last night on my short hair and it worked so well...My hair looks so shiny and healthy..It did get on my scalp but all I did so it wouldn't smell is run it under warm water for a little longer with one of those jet shower heads that u can detach.

  • Do you know if this will work well on relaxed hair?

  • Nap your hair has grown sooo much. Can't wait to try this out!!!!

  • I tried this out on my last night and although it really did leave my hair feeling moisturizer and soft, it made my hair smell SO sour, even after co-washing with regular conditioner and a bit of the mud wash, and lets not mention what happens if it's hot out... Sour scalp! :( I would not recommend this for people with shorter hair.

  • I just did this and I have to say that my hair feels GREAT! Thanks :-)

  • Thanks so much. I have been looking for a good homemade deep conditioner. Can't wait to try it.

  • Hi Naptural! Where would I find this particular brand of yogurt? Does this yogurt really have a smell? I didn't think yogurt did so it must be just this type. Lol!

  • well my hair is not protein sensitive and guess what it worked for me !!! YAY Thanks !!!

  • wow it looks sooooo shinny....... my hair is only two months natural but i think i'm going to try this.... don't know how i'm going to not touch my roots since I only have about two to three inches of hair anyways...:-)

    thanks for sharing...you're great.

  • I was [I am!] going to try this [yogurt] with coconut cream concentrate. I love the concentrate!!! It's apart of a "natural relaxer" recipe. I can't wait! I just bought my yogurt yesterday!

  • does have to be greek yogurt or could you use just regular yogurt?

  • You're hair looks gorgeous. Can't wait to try it for myself. Thank you for sharing

  • It looks thick,And i think that's better,Not a lot of dripping,lol...Or running down you neck like the mayonnaise,lol.

  • what do you suggest for daily moister becaue i find myself Moisturizing everday and still by the time im out if skool its Almost dry!!!! :(

HELP PLZZZZ !!!! thx n <3 the vid

  • @lulu97ization she has a video about a shea butter mixture that is awesome for moisturizing

  • im dying to see how ur hair looks blown out lol ur gorgeous :)

  • how do you make aloe vera juice? can u make it with aloe vera gel and water?

  • does the yogurt smell bad? and how is Greek yogurt different than regular yogurt (eating wise).

  • I had the ingredients for this deepco, so I tried it. It is wonderful!!!! My curls popped, detangling too easy. Dusted my ends and My hair feels and looks great,

  • So is that particular greek yogurt stinky? I've used Greek Yogurt in my hair with avocado and I don't recall it having a smell. Also is the Aloe Vera juice adding to the shine, I love how moisturized your hair looks! Beautiful, you make everything look so easy!

  • i love your Technic, they work for me! try putting eggs and olive oil in the yogurt, you ll like the results.

  • does your aloe vera juice go bad quickly? How long does it last for you, because I used to use aloe vera juice after my showers too but I wouldn't shower everyday and ended up wasting the aloe vera juice. I couldn't find anything smaller than 32 oz either. It usually goes bad around 3 weeks. Is that the case for you?

  • @baa00000 Refrigerate it. :) I keep mine in the fridge, because it's supposed to be kept there and cold is better for warm with your hair for retaining moisture as well.

  • Can you guess at what I did wrong? I tried the Greek yogurt deep conditioner on my daughter's hair and did NOT have the same results as you - in fact it had the opposite effect. Her became MORE knotted and tangled and "felt like straw" - my daughter's description!

I stopped after the second section and re-did it with mayo, eggs and honey! Oh well - so much for that experiment!

Thank you for sharing all the videos. I have learned SOOOO much from you. Please keep them coming! Thank you!

  • what do you recommend for extreme damage at the ends?

  • @jasminebard Ohhh I am not Natural85 but maybe just cut them off. If you don't, the splits will travel up your hair shaft and keep breaking yoru hair off. Sometimes you will even see the strand split in 3!!!!

  • After you rinse your hair, do you towel dry it? I love your videos! You're so intelligent in the way you explain things. Thank you :)

  • How long have you been natural?

  • Did this two days ago and I loved it. I used Balsamic vinegar because that's what I had in the house. I read up on it before using it. The only issue seemed to be potential for stickiness, but I didn't notice stickiness so I'll be using it again. Thanks for the recipe.

  • Can I oil/grease my scalpe everyday? Or is that too much?

  • so since greek yogurt is mostly protein; you are deep conditioning and doing a proteing treatment at the same time? Brilliant, but do you think one will cancel out the other????? tyvm

  • Love your videos but I'll have to pass on this one. I've used Greek yogurt before and it was a big mistake because yogurt and coconut milk both dry my hair out really really bad. Protein overload.

  • What will happy if you don't immediately rinse out your usual conditioner.

  • Want to try this, but If you don't coat the whole hair shaft are we defeating the purpose of deep conditioning? I'm new at this.

  • I was struggling with my dry brittle hair I was ready to do a big chop but your conditioner and this video saved my hair now its so soft... Thank you sooooo much

  • thank you u so much for taking ur time and share ur videos.....I Appreciate it...

I use the Aloe Vera in my conditioner and Flax Seed....Never taught of using it @the end of a wash. How much water nd Aloe did u mix together?Did u ,use the Aloe Vera for a Leave-in?what was ur reason for usin the Aloe vera?

    i

  • i looovvee your hair videos..you were one of the people who inspired me to go natural :D I really appreciate u and your videos!! :D

  • You have inspired me to go natural. My mom keeps trying to tell me to get a relaxer but im not gonna break :D

  • Your hair is beautiful and so are you. I have been a fan of youtube for natural hair since January and you are definitely one of my favorites. I tried this method this morning and you are dead on! My hair practically detangeld itself. Love it!

May you have peace and prosperity in everything you do.

  • How can you tell if your hair is protein sensitive???

  • Great video. simple and natural. Love it!

  • i think your sexy and your hair looks beautiful your a cutie

  • Keep up the good work.

  • quick question...can i use peppermint oil or any of the other essential oils such as avocado oil, sweet almond oil, etc? or does it have to be lavender oil?

  • OK. I used 4 T regular yogurt, 2 T honey and 2 T olive oil and you are so correct. It really de-tangled so easily. Thanks for the tip. It's going into the line up. I love how you keep it simple.

  • thx alot !!!!

  • omgg i cant wait till my hair gets as long as yours!!!

  • It didnt work for me :( However, good news is that I added bergamont essential oil and lavender, rubbed it all over my twa, and my hair smelt like citrus :)

  • do you know how much i love you right now?

  • Great vid! Great Hair!! And My goodness, really great idea!! Thanks for sharing this one, will be trying this out soon!

  • Thanks for this deep conditioner will this work for tightly coiled hair.

  • would you ever blow dry your hair, or striaghten it? itsss supper long and beautiful =D

  • At what point in your regimen do you use this? Do you wash first with the Terresentials or do you DC with the yogurt and then wash with the mud wash afterwards and then style?

  • Wow. This is so great. Can't wait to try this deep conditioner! Thanks for the great tip.

  • I would really like to see your hair straighten...beautiful hair!! <3

  • How do you test your hair for protein sensitivity?

  • @lunaazuel A quick way to know if ur protein sensitive is if ur nails grow long and strong. usually this means ur body has enough protein and is distributinbg it naturally and efficiently.

  • @NaturalNequai so does that mean it is sensitive when your nails grow long and strong or does that mean you arent?because my nails grow long and strong..

  • @lovelilovesyou55 If they grow long and strong most likely you are sensitive.

  • @lovelilovesyou55 If they grow long and strong most likely you are sensitive.
