@TheTruMetal I completely agree. I have pretty much given up trying to reason with people these days about how little album sales has to do with real talent or longevity. There are artists who made some of the most incredible music ever and you never hear it on the radio because of the influx of whatever is popular at the moment. The Beatles and a few other bands are the exception as they topped every chart and were still incredibly brilliant young men with immense talent.

@IdolReady She didn't even know the lyrics to Sgt. Pepper! That shows that she doesn't even listen to The Beatles. I guarantee you she never even heard that song before and had to memorize them before she went on. If you honestly think she's as good as The Beatles, then you've got a LOT to learn about music, kid.

@IdolReady Eh, regardless if you're mad or not, you're still responding to my comments and your responses are still amusing, nonetheless. And I said shitty cover, not any male singer cover. And I know how appreciate covers too, some guy on American Idol did an excellent cover of Dream On by Aersomith. Hell, even the Jonas Brothers did a good cover of Drive My Car by the Beatles. Not that that changes my opinion on them. I just don't like these song covers because...well, they suck lol.

@TheTruMetal I completely agree. I have pretty much given up trying to reason with people these days about how little album sales has to do with real talent or longevity. There are artists who made some of the most incredible music ever and you never hear it on the radio because of the influx of whatever is popular at the moment. The Beatles and a few other bands are the exception as they topped every chart and were still incredibly brilliant young men with immense talent.

@Beatleboy62 - i actually like what taylor hicks did with his bit. he was feeling it. there's a difference between being a real beatles fan, and being so up their butts that you automatically reject anything remotely different from the original interpretation. And you're talking to the biggest beatles fan in the world.

@Archaebob I agree, I loved Taylor Hicks' interpretation. That's what artists do, interpret the songs, not just parrot them. I am a huge Beatles fan as well and think this was a great production. Carrie sounded amazing as well.

@xRockandMetalx HA... actually Kelly has admitted in interviews that she does listen to the Beatles and probably knew the lyrics before she was ever asked to do this medley... Kelly is an incredible musician but you wouldn't know that because you are too busy trying to sit on the same pedestal as the Beatles to realize that Kelly actually more talent in one little pinky then you do in your whole body... just because she is a contemporary singer does not make her any less of a musician

The genius of the Beatles WASN'T that the band members were incredible at the instruments they played. The genius was in the songs they wrote! The combination of instrumental proficiency with these incredible songs is what makes many beatles covers great! These ones aren't good, but you can't say all beatles covers suck.

@Toady373 Don't be an ignorant fuck. If people didn't cover beatles songs like this, their music would probably die. You should be spreading their music. All four of the beatles would be ashamed to have you as a fan. Thanks to this (albeit crappy) performance, maybe another thousand people fell in love with the beatles. It's people like you that give older music a bad name. Teaching is always better than rejecting.
