Great fight. They called it the Fight of the Century in the build up and it lived up to it. I don't know what they paid them in 1971, but they more than earned every penny. Boxing can be cruel. It more than probably any activity can expose your soul, what you truly are, before the whole world. Meaning how much you're willing to give to get what you truly want. In that regard, neither of these warriors need ever feel ashamed.

@madmax8903 You remind me of how the writer Norman Mailer explained that this fight would be like him and another writer debating a great issue and the whole world is watching and listening to every argument they make. Their reputations are on the line, their souls just like here. I guess a presidential race is like this too. Only one winner and both contestants are never the same after. Ali lost the fight but also some of the hatred aimed at him and Frazier was never this good again.

By today's standards both rounds 11 and 15 would be 10-8 rounds for Frazier with 15 maybe even being a 10-7 round for Frazier. how anyone could score this fight 9-5-1 for Ali is just plain insanity.

@dropway9 150 Sportwriters gave Ali the fight. Majority of them gave him 9 rounds. In 10 different rounds Joe doesn't throw a punch until at least a minute into the round. In the meantime Ali is popping him with jabs galore. You may have thought it was, but Joe was born with those lumps on his face, they're a result of Ali's brutal jabs and hooks.
