What do the 5970 have that the 5870 don´t have? In test the 5870 ran faster than 5970 despite that 5970 is much more expensive. So whats the advantage of 5970?

Instead of being rude, think of the obvious reasons... 5970 is downclocked 5870x2 to 5850 frequencies. So what you are stating is right, although if you are overclocking the 5970 to 5870 speeds it will be more or less equal. But hey.. you go yourself and buy two 5870's and a 5970 for comparison. it's not my money

yes but you can OC the 5970 to 5870 speeds. All you need to do is increase the volt and then you can break the 300W mark. It is literally two 5870 cards at $200 less. Very good card.

Nvidia's GT300 Fermi will NOT be faster than the Ati HD 5970, period! However, the GT300 will probarly be the fastest single gpu graphics card on the market, faster than the HD 5870, but this card is 2x 5870. And Nvidia probarly won't release their dual GPU card before summer 2010 I bet, and by then Ati would already have something new...

the best Nvidia card is the 290 unless they ungraded recently and the 290 is really one step behind this card in almost every way.

the graphic processing power is the same or equal and it is direct x11 compatible.

Yea it does if you dont have any hard drives in the case. I have 4 hard drives in my case and even the HD5870 barely fits inside. SATA cables from hard drive is actually touching the card itself, and if the card was half cm longer it wouldnt fit. So i doubt you could fit a 5970 inside which is quite longer.

@Clio20: I'm not an ATI fanboy, but still the 5970 beats the GTX 295 by 15-20% in FPS and that's quite a lot. And it has DX11. It's runs quite hot and is way too long though.

It has two GPUs, but each one is slower than a GPU of a 5870. As far as I know the card is faster as a 5850x2 would be. So 5970 is OK (even I would like to see a 5970 X2 with 4 GPUs :-] )
