@leviterande The curved shape of the incomming airflow, makes the vortex curved. In this video there are clips of many different experiments. All curved 90º this time (not 180º as in the previous video). The air is blown in close to the vortex, from behind a curved surface, or blown in from the front against a surface that redirects the airflow in the right direction. If the incomming airflow would be shaped like a "S" for example, I predict the vortex will become "S" shaped.
