  • Thanks! Beautiful video and phonograph!

  • five stars!

  • This was one of Coon-Sanders' first "Orthophonic" {electrical} recordings for Victor- and it sounds good on this "machine".

  • Do you know if Orville Knapp is on this recording?

  • Cvwtzhaar, He's not listed as making any recordings with C-S on the Red Hot Jazz site. I don't have any discographical notes on this recording. If i get a chance I'll ask around. Hope you enjoyed the clip.

    Regards, J.

  • Cvwtzhaar, I've heard back from a fellow collector. He tells me according to Rust Knapp is listed as playing clarinet & alto on this date. So you were right. I'll be adding the recording date in the descriptive on the right.

    Regards, J.

  • Georgia Melodians Do a Great Version of this.

  • Really, I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Thanks.

    Regards, J.

  • C'mon guys. Nothing wrong with a Victor IV. Carl and Joe sound great no matter what!!!

  • Theoldlefthander, You got that right! 'Always ready for bear! ;-) Regards, J.

  • Play this record on an Othophonic Victrola like I do...It sounds so clear and powerful that words can hardly do it justice.

  • Jpmadore1, You're preaching to the choir! ;-) It does sound fantastic on my Granada. Regards, J.

  • I used to work in an Alzheimers ward and old folks home as an activities director. I used to sing this song to all of the old folks. They loved it this by far is one of the classics and everyone loves to sing it.

  • jfeltes2, It is one of the great standards of the era. A truly great tune! Bravo to you for you work with Alzheimers patients! Regards, J.

  • On of my favorite bands and songs!!! It seems this tune is slightly quicker than in my upload of the same Coon-Sanders song?...

  • kwpm01, It may well be. I set my machine as best I could to 78rpm for this one, but I sometimes have a tough time with stroboscopes. I'll give your's a listen tonight after work. Regards, J.

  • Thank you for bothering to compare! I will be absent 10 days so I might read your comment at that moment; be sure it would be not be due to a lack of interest.

  • This record is 3:09 if that'll help you set your speed.

  • Mr. Somerset, Thank you. I'll take note of that and time it next time I play it and see if I can approximate the RPM's with the help of my stroboscope. Regards, J.

  • On second thought, I kinda like your jazzy speeded up version-just hard to tap your foot fast enough to this music. HAHA

  • :-)
