I love seeing these two creating amazing music together. That's a musical partnership that's developed over years and years. As good a drummer that Mangini is, he'll never have that same luxury that Petrucci had with Portnoy
I just love the process of them making music. JP figuring out the beginning to Honor Thy Father and MP figuring out how to play the drums to the riff. Just amazing for the type of music they make.
It only took them three weeks? THREE WEEK?! This album has some amazing tracks on it. Endless Sacrifice and Stream of Consciousness are some of my all time favorite DT songs and they did it in three weeks. Amazing.
ToT and MP2 are my personal faves and apparently both done under such a tight time frame, makes you wonder how they can possibly do all they do in just a few weeks!
I love how they care equally about all the instruments and parts! Working on the song, not the guitar part or the bass part. They work on it as one big thing :) Beautiful!
I was Wondering where's James?? but then I realized that someone gad to hold the camera XD and it becomes pretty obvious that he his the camera guy, cause you can hear him at 7.25 m xD
Yet like in the middle of the video the camera is moving but you can see all five member in front of the camera, but my guess is that it probably was JR's hidden third hand, you can see it too in the making of Systematic Chaos :)
yeah dude. i heard Mike was so upset at one point during Infinity that he was considering leaving the band. fortunately he didnt. it'd be impossible to replace him
Actually, that was on the tour and not the making of the album hehe, he decided he weill leave after the tour so that he would honor the remaining tour dates, but at some point before the end of the tour the band and new and current manager talk him into staying in the band.
And yes i agree with you, he will be impossible to replace.
Dude, don't do that! I got burned when on the "These walls" video. I said that the intro sounded something that KoRn would do. Which I still think it does. The reason is because it's a 7 string drop A. combine a riff that's in their style, and you're fucked! I can't believe no one noticed, I thought it was blatantly obvious.
