when she does it fast she loses the basic beat of the maksum. she is focusing on speeding up her split finger teqhnique and forgot the main beat. but i wish i can do the split fingers as fast as she does. I don't know how :(
Speed is one thing, style and finesse are another. she has the first but none of the rest. So when practicing, don't just spend time on technique, spend time on feeling the beat.
I had a hard time finding part I of this lesson. I think I found it, though it's not labelled as such (just called "Raquy Lesson"): watch?v=RHchSwwJjyM
Agree with Dionysis....difficult to hear what should be clear crisp sounds to bring out the rhythms ...the ka (split-finger) hand is way too overbearing....
sorry Raquy, but that's what I hear ....others might not agree :).
Raquy is taking some heat from a few way-experienced drummers. But they are not her intended audience. She's trying to help total newbs like me. And since she's obviously way better than me, she reserves the right to school me. Rock on Raquy.
My problem is in the Dum-Down-Up. . . Dum-Down-Up pattern. I can't do the down-up part cleanly. I can hit decent "ka"s in various rhythms, but I can't get this double hit. Especially not at light speed like the pros.
I watched your video one month ago and today again. Practice harder dear . Nothing changed yet in one month time can't you realize that. I'll come and watch next month one more time. No change yet than may be you have to search the answer in katmandu .
You are fantastic on air but only what I could not hear in the whole story was maqsun; For the real split finger technics you have to refer to Onur, Erdem and Misirli Ahmet. and for Maqsun Pacerman265. Just record the sounds coming from your side and compare with the rythims of those guys. You'll find the truth, I'm sure!
