    I was 20 % faster than other guys with TUMPEK invented by an hongarian swimmer, copied by Atie Voorbij who I saw doing it, and then next day I did it just like that - It's inhaling one time per two strokes and you swimm much more under water like a dolphin - it's beautiful - I wonder if I'm the only now in the world knowing how to do it. - I'm 74 but still able to demonstrate TUMPEK - IT'S HEAVY but fast and very gracious

  • this unfortunately is todays society, 90% of black people can't swim and this guy is one of them, most black people take up other different sports, however there is hope, Cullen Jones is an Olympic Gold medalist who swam in the 4x100 relay team (USA) has proved it can be done on the world stage, u just have to train and have the right attitude

  • A good start. Timing is important. Try to keep your legs a bit straighter, the kick should really work from the hips, not from the knees down. Watch some videos of good swimmers and you will see the whole body undulating like a break dancer.

  • keep legs together, they tend to be separating during your kicks. nothing against you man, good drill.... but what the hell was that butterfly? needs a lot more practice.

  • Because you do two dolphin kicks and recover both arms simultaneously may mean you're doing a legal version of fly...but not necessarily well.

    The most glaring error to me is not finishing your stroke...that is you are recovering you arms before they reach your hips.

    I admire your enthusiasm but would encourage you to compare your stroke with veteran swimmers.

    I have swum competively and coached for twenty five years and I still constantly strive to improve my technique.

  • In butterfly there are two kicks, once when your hands enter the water and one as your hands exit the water. the second kick should coincide with your hands from mid torso to hips. Right now the second kick is two early and isn't helping the stroke much.that's my two cents

  • Cool voice, fantastic attitude! I swim 4/5 times a week - tomorrow will go for it first time at some fly drills cos I want to and find natural urge to do so creeps in to other drills - eg. freestyle arm movement, breastroke undulation. I understand legs should be held together on butterfly kick. Takes courage to try fly, since a bad stroke can look uncool (I personally look bad enough in googles, swimcap, noseclip!) Still, wanting to "swim like a fish" and loving the whole experience is key!

  • great video. people should try snaking more through the water like the ac current you showed. Your bum must break the surface (roughly when your arms are extended) whilst head and feet are underwater. Practicing butterfly with one arm worked for me (Its easier and so you can keep it up longer and that really improves technique and strengthened muscles). Strenghtening back muscles through practice is really important otherwise people compensate with a kick from the knee.

  • keep working at it... you look a little stiff in all your strokes, so relax and stretch out the movements... i find that practicing all kicks with a kickboard helps a lot... good luck & keep posting your progress...

  • for your fly, kick from your hips and your stomach, use your abs/stomach/hips to kick, not your knees, and I agree. You should learn your arms first before your kick, beause the kick will sort of come naturally. Bring your arms out of the water some more, and keep your head down when you are breathing, try not to choke like I did at my meet yesterday too, but then..

  • you shouldn't bend your knees too much you have to make it like naturally move from hips and your ass, also you have to move your arms out of the water and move them by a relaxed but fast way to the front before to put them back in water again

  • if your going to learn butterfly... get ur arms into the stroke first let ur legs follow because then itll just come naturally

  • you are not suppossed to bend your knees as much as you are. the movement is from the chest and hips.

  • It's taken me over a year to learn butterfly - you will get there if you keep practicing- I tried doing all the moves REALLY SLOWLY (first dolphin kick with arms by side, then dolphin kick with arms out front with occasional breast-stroke pull when breathing, then basic version of whole stroke)- good luck!

  • Thanks Jaepil, for you observation regarding my knees. I will try to keep them straighter. Check back with my channel next season to see if I have improved that point.

  • 1 serious flaw you had in your butterfly, is that you should try not to bend your knees so much anytime you kick.
