Those who say his building a house of that size in a poverty-stricken area was in poor state probably wish they had been that rich themselves - in short, they envy him. If more people that rich built houses as big as that, more people would be employed. The goal is to raise people from abject penury to a state where their basic needs are met - not to turn everyone into a billionaire.

And none of his wealth is actually "his" until he decides to spend it. Banks don't work like that. It's not like his $30 billion is sitting in a vault like in Gringotts. And when he does spend it, as others have said at length, he is providing jobs to others. The long-term effects of industrialization is immeasurably more useful to society than the short-term and short-lived benefits of charity.

I get the fact that it's his money, and he can do what he wants with it. I understand treating yourself to a nice house or something like that. But that is just plain ridiculous. Nobody needs a house THAT large. It's a waste of a good amount of money that could have been spent elsewhere such as something else or even for charities. Man thats has to be the most UGLIEST house Ive ever seen. Ive seen PLENTY more BEAUTIFUL homes that cost ALOT less then THAT. I wouldnt even call that a house it looks like some old, tore up section 8 apartment building sitting in the middle of New Jersery or New York City. And look at the neighorhood that its around.
