It's the frame number just like volkswagen mk1,2,3,4,5 Audi use b5 for 1996-2001,b6 for 2002-2005,b7 for 2006-2008, and b8 for the 2009 model

Okay, lets see. Transitions are there to make the video much more entertaining instead of one long boring shot. Unnecessary? Seems to me like the editor wanted these transitions in sync with the music playing. Oh and because you hate Audi doesn't mean it's a "piece of shit".

Yes, their function is to TRANSITION between scenes that are DIFFERENT, not the same shot. There was one camera during the entire video so a transition-less video would have been sufficient. And I don't hate Audi. In fact, I drive one :]
