@anonymuswere It's the anti-lag system for the turbo. Search youtube for some videos on it, It's pretty cool. It retards the timing so much that the fuel detonates in the exhaust manifold causing the turbo to speed up rather than slow down on shifts preventing any turbo lag when the next gear is selected. You get more power sooner with this system for a trade of for extremely high intake temperatures for this short duration that the combustion occurs in the exhaust.

The Quattro was only turbocharged (originally). If you want a Twincharged (both super and turbocharger) Group B monster then look at the Lancia Delta S4.
