It makes a good tyre pump and a good vacuum pump but it will NOT pump water / liquid, the gas vapour is compressed by piston in to a liquid (a tiny amount per cycle) if it were to take water in the pistin would simple stop dead as you can't compress a liquid, this is why in the Air Conditioning trade we always charge the system with the gas vapour (and let compressor suck it in and discharge it as a liquid) as just liquid in suction side will damage compressor.
@mrcrtking Derp. You can charge with liquid directly into a high-side receiver. You can also charge liquid into suction cooled compressors suction side, as the heat of compression will flash off the refrigerant. Also, SOME refrigerants MUST be charged as a liquid, as they are mixes. Daltons Law explains why this happens.
@timtanguay HI I am aware you can charge system with liquid on high pressure / discharge side into the receiver, I also know that some refrigerant is charged as liquid such as R407C as it is a blend and to maintain the correct % of each individual ingrediant, BUT the blend liquid before it gets to compressor has vaporised, when its at ur guage set its liquid but you control the flow of the liquid into the air con unit so that NO liquid or very very little actually hits the compressor
Compressor discharge pressure around 400 PSI and will suck close to 500 micron. used to use it to vacuum out air con systems untill I bought a proper Robinair 4 CFM vac pump.
i use to get a car tyre valve, put it through the bottle cap - from inside bottle outwards- so that the taper increases the seal with more pressure. Also run two wires into the bottle and connect them together with a small coil of 5A fuse wire. Put some gasolene into the bottle, pump the bottle up to 10 bar with an air line, then connect the two wires across an automobile battery. good proyptechnics.... and a large bang!
lol I did that a lot 3 years ago until some dickhead called the police and said I was making bombs and setting them off in the backyard :p (I know who it was and they knew it was just plastic bottles and tubes)
@TimpBizkit well, its hard to tell what companies makes the bottles out of what quality plastics so i would have to say in between 100 - 120 psi. i used to get the regular 3 liter bottles from demoulas and shaws supermarkets and got those up to 155psi. 3 liter bottles have a massive deep boom and the 2 liter bottles have that wonderful hybird of loud ear bleeding highs and a little of the window shattering lows!! use a bicycle pump and a road cone to go over the bottle and try 120 - 130psi.
@bikr1975 I have put a pressure gauge on the line and got well over 200 PSI in bottle before it blows, its close to 250 PSI in fact, we used to blow them up with a 5 KG Co2 fire extinguisher (and they are charged to 600 PSI !!!!! ) untill it cost £50 to refill it.
the dimples on the bottom should just about dissappear and if you flick the side of the bottle with your finger, it should have a very hollow metallic sound. NO....i dont mean press the bottle up against your head to listen then go deaf....idk.....off track. ok.........also hehe....you wanna make some on the demand noise too??? tape a firecracker to the side of the bottle and light it. you wanna throw the bottle up in the air after lighting wick......BIG BOOM!!! HAVE FUN ;)
@bikr1975 or put some flash paper or the fire cracker itself inside the bottle itself, pump to 120psi and light with a high power laser pen (only works with clear plastic bottles or you'll just put a hole in the bottle). I don't have a laser pen but I imagine you'd have to have a death wish to try it!!
@TimpBizkit why do you think its gonna leave a hole?? nooooo, seriously, i detonated a 3 liter bottle this way. same if you shoot it with a high powered air rifle or air pistol. actually, the air gun is better cause you can secretly stash a bottle in or around something and when you want to detonate it, just shoot it. you have to get it on the side of the bottle. if you dont like squirrels and want to scare them off permanently???....bottle on ground, squirrel on feeder, shoot bottle ;)
if you dont have compressor lying around then just put some drain cleaner (lye based) and aluminium foil strips inside bottle and close the cap

whats the maximum pressure you can make with that pump?

Do it with a glass bottle lol joking

do this again, but first tightly wrap the bottle in duct tape XD

I used to do "roccket " launches , the bottle was put vertical and at a pressure it could escape and fly . How many PSI are there ?

nice way to turn it into a 2liter bottle...haha

Those bottles are surprising. They will hold a huge amount of compression.

hahahaha...wow, i used to cut holes in the caps of the bottles then insert a tire valve, inflate to 160psi, boom.

@bikr1975 I was wondering what pressure they burst at. I've used a bike pump to 80-100psi but was scared to go too far.
