  • I just replaced the thermal grease that Microsoft uses for their Xbox 360s with my SIIG Ultra-Chill Brush-On Silver Thermal Grease, and after several seconds, the fans spin faster than my car. I also blew into the fans to remove the dust. do you think the dust caused the fans to go slow (<2,000 RPM) and stop and after the dust removal caused the fans to spin from normal speed (3,000 RPM) to a high-rated speed (over 4,000 RPM)? Just curious. My Xbox 360 fans haven't been better in ages.

  • Or you could just rewire to the cdrom power. There are other parts of the board as well. But these spots don't break down, what did you do?

  • ive gone deaph

  • Just wanted to say to ANY Microsoft employees or representatives EAT A DICK!!!

  • This is BULLSHIT, just check my wires and one of the red connections to the 4 pin adapter wasn't seated properly. This is on a replacement Talisman 360 fan green. I just reseated it and now both fans are working. Check your wires FIRST!

  • Video dose not show how to fix anything, just you sticking a screw driver on a lead... but if you have a how to video I'll give it a thumbs up =D

  • i cant see what ur doing the vids to blurry can u send me a pic or something

  • so replacing that mosfet should work or bridge those 3?

  • well, last week i tried adding a 2nd fan inside. spliced the wires, did NOT think of what i was doing and tied all wires together (dont ask idk why either, 2 am thing) and then plugged it and turned it on. the wires sparked and no fans spun obviously. so i then realized immediately my idiot mistake and took it out. then replugged the stock fans in with no extras and they now spin at 12v constant. xbox runs flawlessly but the fans are on full. accidental 12v mod

  • the issue may be a thermal sensor fail under the thermal sink, i recently performed x clamp 3 rrod fix and resulted in the same issue.

  • You cant see it clearly in the vid but this is what you should do. I soldered the points (there are three) the two on the right side of the transistor and it worked for me.

  • crusha! :) Crusha! :)

  • Does the stock fans spin at 12V constantly?

  • I turn on my xbox when i put the pennys and i herd a pop and my fans dont work :(

  • same shit happened to me

  • your messing up ur motherboard dumb ass

  • the stock fan power is shit. you need to buy a better cooling system to go on top the stock fans

  • Also I tried plugging in a different fan and it did the same thing, so I know the actual fan is fine.

  • So only one side of my fan isn't working, the CPU side works fine, but the GPU side gets no movement. Could doing the re-solder fix this problem?

  • so do i put a bit of solder on R3B16 to bridge a connection?

  • already tried putting solder on r3b16 and no fan movement. maybe something else blew. so i got some talismoon fans and running them on 12v

  • Mine goes to fast and gives my 360 2 red lights..

  • 2 red rings is the xbox overheating, smarts

  • @FamousBaller08 use a pc power supply

  • yh my i want to make my bak fans go faster because my xbox is getting fried how do i do it??

  • you can buy new fans tha make it go faster just google xbox 360 rear fans and youll find them theyr not very expensive if you have any other questions about this stuff or computers then pm me or comment one of my vids!

  • R3B16, that's the designation on my motherboard that get fried. RJI ZT751. Is the chip I think got toasted. Will solder help?

  • i did the same i blew my stock power the three pins have no current flowing through them. i just made an external powersupply but my gpu overheats

    i need help

  • i was installing a side fan but when i was checking the polarity i blew my three prong as well. HOW DID YOU FIX YOURS and to keep your gpu from overheating you need the scoop thing on

  • CRUSHER

  • is tht the elite or origanal becu i hav t he same problome on my elite and its way diffrent than from this one

  • i tried to do this and it didnt work somebody told me that it was a blown transistor

i dont know wat to do

can u make a video tuturial with details and shit u know wat i mean

  • thats posible im sorry i dont have time to make a tuturial vid this is also not the only solution.

  • me to it started smoking and the bottom metal housing was black from smoke,,,,,,,,,,sucks!!!!!!!!!

  • @adrisan2006 It is a blown transistor. I was installing leds and i wired them to the fan power supply,l and the damned thing blew... soooo, i took my best guess at which transistor died, look at it really closely and ordered it at my local electronics store(active electronics). then i simply replaced it. guess what... IT WORKED!!

  • @redstarsrbija u know exactley what transister it was? cuz i tried to instal another lil tiny fan on top of the lil box with the lithium pipe the runs to the gpu heat sink. and the fans jus stopped workin.. and i know the fans work cuz i ran the + wire to multiple sorces on the bored. but i'd rather fix it instead of having a wire floating around in the box.

  • @crackerjap407 sorry for the 2 month late reply :S

there are a ton of different xbox revisions, i wouldn't be able to know for sure.

send me a picture of the front and back of your xbox motherboard and ill see.

  • ok scratch my last comment. I soldered the two points (i found out looking closely) and i went from ZERO power to one fan working still no both. any idea on how to get both going?

  • ok so i tried this and i got one side of the fan to work, but i got a static spark and boom 3 red rings. unplugged PS and then turned on my xbox again and it worked, where do you put the screwdriver on, could you do a tutorial of WHERE to solder the two together?

  • put some thermal paste on it

  • where the fuck im gonna get that man!

  • hey how did you fix it... i just blew the fan power suply i guess cuz my fans stoped working how can or where can i take the power from to be able to make this thing work?

  • wel u can solder the two points pointed out in this vid which is around 5v i think or u can change the power suply to 12v just do a search ther r other vids showin how to do it.

  • wait both of ur fans stoped working?

one of mine stopped (i have the 3 lights of death)

    i tried fixing it

    wtf did i do?

    or what should i do

    PLZ HELP

  • i don't remember what i wrote

  • ok that was 7 months ago

i blew something up in it

    i got new one and

Well yep im fucked for that one

  • actually the red rings is a heating problem due to fans numb nuts -,-

  • take it from the cd drive power suply, this will give u 12volts instead of around 5volts so u wil have more cooling

  • @driftmanager Pull it from the place where you plug in the power supply. You can get banned from LIVE for using the DVD power cuz they see its drawing more power than normal and ban you for DVD drive modding.

  • ok i think i KILLED my xbox=a.k.a xshit it i broke the green light in the front lol but seriously my xbox now comes up as 3 red lights and the power supply light turns red then turns off plzz some1 help me

  • i don't think anybody has that prob

but(i give you tutorial) might help

for 3 light of death only

take out the cpu and gpu

the washers that aren't connected to the screws, you take sand paper(80-40)grit, make all 8 skinnier

then you see this grey stuff?

spread that around where i used to be(if u know) then take a heatgun (1100f) use that for five min on the 360

put everything back together and it should work for a month

    might help

to other peplz that have this prob (3 light os death)post it
