Oddly, I never really liked this song much. I've always felt there was something not quite right about a band named "Paul Revere and the Raiders" doing a song about this. (IMHO) I saddens me to see how much anger is still held here for sickening wrongs done in the past, but I understand it, and feel it is justified. I'm only 1/132 native, but it makes me sick to know that many of my own ancestors were probably part of the disgusting treatment of the natives here. Sickening. Just sickening.

The Indians do have a legitimate bitch, bu tif yuo study history yuo will find that every tribe, or group of nation on earth to some degree were enslaved, their lands occupied, or taken. Nt all say they are part Cherokee, but more than half can claim some Indian blood. I am blessed to be Half Cherokee and half Shawnee. People have said I should be ashamed becuz Indians were "savages"...but those who say that should be ashamed for not paying more attention in history. The whites annihilated tribes at Sand Creek,,,and that was supposed to be "fine"...but when we retaliated we were again labled Savage. I am proud of who I am!!!!!
