Calling Dick Smothers a amature was quite a bit of a stretch. He had a long carrer in F-5000 cars [formula cars with 300 cid stockblock engines[ and then moved up to Indy cars.

911 2.0Liter slightly less HP, but much different than a 4 cylinder!

Porsche 914 was a total piece of crap. I'm suprised they ALL didn't break down.

You're excused for that. It's a great car. Why must a sports car be expensive? It may have been cheaper than a 911, but they're great to drive, and the 914 has more in common with Porsche's original sports car than the 911-- mid-mounted engine and tuned VW mechanicals. Mid-engine has always been best; see Porsches 550, 917, 904, 906, GT1, and Carrera GT. And of course, the original Porsche 356 #1. Also, my '73 runs great, thanks.
