You can do it forwards. If you throw your pipe bomb and then turn around to where you want to go, it'll blast you forward and you can watch where you go :D

At the beginning head over to the tower thing and when your at the top go on the rail, move back slightly and jump just before you need to be pulled up and you float over to the roof, someone will revive you and your on the roof BAM!
