Why does Ash always meet all the legendaries when most people don't meet them in their whole life time, why is he always such good friend with most of them, why is he always so important when it comes to legendaries (e.g. thanks to him Mewtwo became good) and why he never tries to catch them, if I would have chances like he has I would try to catch them.

@MihawkFIN You know, In the Darkrai movie, he could have easily captured Darkrai and healed him instead of crying about it like he couldn't do anything about it. Hell, in almost all the Pokemon movies, the legendaries get hurt, but instead of being smart and capturing them to heal them in a Pokemon Center, he just lets them rot and cry like a little bitch. The anime REALLY needs to get rid of Ash or Satoshi and replace him with the respective male lead of the game. With the female lead, too.

@anthony4rmthe90s Seems he spent more or less a year in each main region (Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh Isshu) and half in the Orange Islands and his revisit to Kanto during the Battle Frontier Arc, he should be 15 or 16 years old by now.

Of course, it's most probable that Pokemon uses a Simpsonish chronology, so time goes on and the series gets actualized to fit the changes of the real world, but the characters are always the same age.
