Damien Rice is so good... such an inspiration.

As a songwriter I always feel when I write a song it never measures up to how I feel about it, or what I thought it would sound like. If I could write songs as good as Damien I would be pretty happy about it. Hopefully I'm getting closer.... Damien Rice together with Lisa Hannigan and the band are probably the most beautiful thing you can listen to. Even though they appear casual and not ready at all, they give us music that we will remember for life.

It saddened me so much to see them split up. But I guess it's just as he sang. Some things in life may change. We watch our city change. I watched them split, but you know the music will always stay the same :)

This has always been one of my favourite ones of Damiens songs. its so beautiful. the story fits in with my life so well, the father leaving the mother and going to other lands, mother breaking down eventually, the kids losing their graces and daddy losing at the races... but theres always time to make it better
