I HATE it when people are rude to their servers! It's so sad. It's happened quite a few times when I was out with my mom and sister. The people a few tables over being complete dickheads to their waitresses. My mom, sister and I always try to tip a little bit extra when that happens. None of us have worked as servers in sit down restaurants, but I worked for a fast food place in high school and it was even worse. Just do your best and try to shrug off the idiots. :)

Those guys probably were broke. Instead of realizing that they couldn't afford to eat there and getting up and heading to a McDs, they decided to protest the restaurant's high prices by treating you like shit. The guy who ordered 5 cokes probably thought you had free refills. Tourists, especially from middle america always expect free refills. What I hate are the obviously rich people with $200 tabs that leave $20. Obviously, they can spare $200 but not $40?

i'm really digging your waiting tables videos and rantings. i can relate to a lot of this because i've been a server for 2 years. it's so hard to take in all of the BS from rude/inconsiderate customers sometimes... and still have to smile and be polite amidst their lack of respect and terrible tips (even though you gave them great service).

The worst is when people are AGES about figuring out what they want and then complain about that 'they came here almost an hour ago and the food is not here yet'. I had a realy crappy table today ok here I go ..I had a table with 8 people there and I started joking arround and shit whatever, after that everybody were cool blabla bla everything cool right after that I had a table of 5 right next to the other one and this one all of them they had waters, ok I mixed the tickets ( my bad ) and I gave to the 8 top the ticket of $65 buck which it belong to the 5 top, he payed the check and they stayed there for talk and shit ,

Then they kept her hopping, getting crap for them, and when they paid for the bill, their change came out to be 2 cents and the lady stood there with her hand out the whole time, acting as though she though my friend was gonna keep the change. And they didn't tip, either. My friend said she was so mad that she would've rather thrown that 2 cents in the trash rather than keep it from that lady!

A friend of mine was waiting tables one day when she got a table full of non-English-speaking customers. Ok, one lady did speak English, so she could translate. But the others? Nada. My friend was so mad because after deliberating for a while, all six of them decided to order our special, our $6.99 8 oz. steak. Which would've been fine if it had been 6 special. Oh, no no! They ordered three steaks and split them amongst themselves and ordered six glasses of water!

First of all, I have been a waiter in my time.Waiters need to be treated with a lot of courtesy and kindness. It's an awkward job, walking up to people, getting shit for them. I always try to smile at my waiter, ask them how they're doing, and then I damn sure always leave a good tip. If you don't do these things, you're just a miserable ass.

Sometimes normal polite people in our society like to be be courteous when they are eating out at nice restaurants. Most human beings have a genuine interest in other people and what they like or dislike. Unless youre a cold bitter person who pushes everyone in your life away, or think of yourself as being better than other people that just like you.

About the "boring" remark...I would've been assuming that you were just saying in a good-humored way that just being on a diet was boring. That you were just trying to set the customers at ease by being less formal. It was the customer that started getting all personal, after all, by volunteering the information that they were on diets.
