Do you have to reconstitute these or can you just use them straight from the can most of the time?

Does it flavore meat the same way that you would flavor it with regular onions? The reconstituting process seems kind of messy (soaking it in water before use) is it better than I'm imaging?

These are really good for breading different meats or adding into a crock pot. Just like minced onions, but you don't have to make yourself cry to get them that way - bonus! (P.S. Holding a spoon in your mouth while you cut onions helps avoid those stinging tears. Just by the way.)
