Prince's melodies are very remarkable, you've obviously made that revelation without enough musical knowledge of the man. Melodies aside, Prince basically created and made the 'shuffled funk beat' popular. Not only that, you don't even have to listen hard to see that the harmonies in this song are so Prince-like it's irrefutable. My comparison is not unnecessary and it's a good song I'm sure Will Young would have been honoured to be compared to the likes of Prince.

i know what i m saying. the only melody of prince that comes to my mind right now is the chorus of cream, and that one is not all that, 2 b honestly speakin. what prince would do was take a wack melody and over produce it into a nice song. thats why his careers faded and kids didnt even know his name anymore by the end of the 90ies. and that shuffled funk beat used 2 be as a preset on every keyboard you could buy in the 80ies. even on those with i dont know 32 keys for kids.

I thought it was a brave choice for single release, but loved the imaginative video that went with the song.
